http://schizo.skewed-reality.com/piccies/silfer.jpg

Half way into this picture I hit this creative blockade thingy and didn't actually wanna finish this. I tried my best to make the scanner be trueful to what the original picture... well. Meh It's evil.

Anyway, here is Sil'fer, main heorine of PSO EP3. The challenge of this picture is, "How to draw Sil'fer without drawing attention to her breasts?" Sil'fer has abnormal body proportions, .... really, badly, abonormal. Her boobs are bigger than her head in the game. *hiss at distasteful designers* In the end, I guess what I can do is not put too much emphasizes on them, even though they are kinda her siginiture points.

She was supposed to be holding daggers instead of knives, but I decided the blue colour scheme suits better. .... And Ian, your Rati. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Discuss.

w00t Once again Navi shows dominion over every medium of art. By hand or computer Navi's rule is supreme.

She seems sad, like perhaps she doesnt want to kill, very good pose.

Bows down to Navi..."we are not worthy"...

Sil'fer always look slightly sad. Well with what happened to her and such. I normally think sad looking women are really sexy (like my fav fighting gal of all time : Shiki!) and she would have been if she doesn't have those ridiculous boobs. Now she is kinda like "I am sad because my boobs are too big. And my back hurts."

Grr. Heh!
Oh hey Hikara, that an updated version of award? Looks nice!

Hm? Rati? I originally didn't wanna put in a Rati, but I kinda wanted the "wing" effect and hence I pretty much bypassed all the proper Rati proportions. Heh

Yesh! I wanted to do this with charcoal but I realize the watercolour paper with texture doesn't work well with them. So.

Everyone is a critic. Really, the picture is well done, if you consider the medium. And the proportion is correct. The colors are fluid and the pose is dramatic. The face does portray sadness through the eyes, I fail to see any bruises or blood as if she was "hit a couple times"...

But everyone has their opinions, and Navi unfortunately may not satisfy your taste, but the work that Navi has turned in to psow has always been welcomed.

geez, don't have to get all indignant on me. and if you really want to get technical your just as much a critic as i am. Anyone who gives their opinion on anything is a critic. As for the lacking thing, i think it might be because it seems like it has to much white where there should be color.

I did say "everyone" is a critic, meaning myself also. But putting down work is not a way to be constructive.

Not all pictures have to be coloured or have background to be enjoyed by the masses.

you make it sound as though i'm trying to disgrace it, which by all means i am not. On another thing, I normally like black and white rather than color. But if you look at Navi's other pics, i think they seem to have more of a life in them. Then i realized they just seem to have a more solid look to them, because they didn't have as much white. This pic seems like it might have been made with a colored pencil, maybe that's just the problem. Just try not to ridicule other peoples' opionins before you see things from there side.

I most agree with Kafka. She didn't even intend for the shit to be great, so why promote it?

That's like an Employee telling his worse worker that he does the best job ever and wants them to keep it up. What happens when they keep it up?...Guess who just lost their company because of some coward ass boss unwilling to tell off his worker..

Come on people, keep the topic on track. No one wants it to derail.

It looks to be done by pencil, so I'm guessing maybe that's why it might look lifeless. I personally don't think it is, I think it's great. Good action pose, and good job of covering up the "big as her head" breasts. They definitely would have drawn attention away from the rest of the pic.

Meh, even though you said you kind of gave up, it's still good stuff.

Stop hijacking the thread.

Okay. Point to note here.
I know this isn't super, and I did hit a big creative bump half way through this picture. But, I want my projects to finish up so I worked on this. So maybe it is lacking a bit in life, I agree that I like this less than my other colour pencils stuff.

However, I don't agree that this is shit. I did work hard on it. And I do think I am allowed to be "off" one of these days. I posted this so I can get CONSTRUCTIVE criticism and comments. If you can't keep that in mind I am going to ask you to keep your words out of here.

what's the big hoohah? They don't look big to me. I actually had to look at it to relize what the size was ment to be. I mean you have the line seperating the breast goes down pretty far, and you have a curve of a breast on the side of one arm, but they don't look big. I think it's because the arms don't apear to be away from her body enough to match the size.

And that is definitely gonna draw attention to it... didn't wnat that. Hence I pretty much didn't do much with the boobs. Risking anatomical incorrectness.

wouldn't breasts be a politer term? boobs sounds so slang.

My bad. Heh.
Though, in Sil'fer's case I am having a bit of trouble to refer to them respectfully. HONESTLY ST! WTF WERE YOU THINKING???

... Ino'lis, Rufina, Stella and all the rest, deserve to be call breasts, or even chests. :/ Because they look NORMAL, rather than like that,... Anna Nicole Smith... type woman.

that looks more realistic, though is that okaka or whatever that thing is called? I can't remember Japanese art style spellings, for that matter, i can barely remember much spelling at all.

...Too true - you want to sell something? Nothing easier - just give it a bikini! Done it already? So what are you waiting for! Count the money!

I don't know. In that case why didn't they make everyone like Sil'fer? The other girls all look perfectly normal. Actually, Lura is even flat chested.

It`s pretty easy to answer this, I think. In my country we have a saying that goes "Co za duzo to niezdrowo" - literatly it means "What is too much is unhealthy". The same goes for PSOIII - ST already gived Sil`fer those "billboards" (sorry, no offense - I like her a lot too), so there is no more need for more such characters. In one way they are making buisness, and in other they are not to offensive toward the common sense.

because your able to overdue it, because there are some people who don't like this stuff, so if they put to much in it, it won't sell to them. But if they didn't make at least one girl like that, the sales would probably be lower than if all the girls were normal vs. all the girls are sexy. It's all a matter of attracting people's attention. They need it severe enough to attract the pervs, but not so severe it turns away the people who hate that kind of thing. Get what i'm saying?

To be bitterly cynical, if everyone looks that way, it's no big deal--so they make one character they can flash for fan service in front of everyone, and she looks even more "exaggerated" next to the rest of the cast.

*sigh* I know, I know.
No, personality wise, I think Sil'fer is a fine woman, and with a tragic past, I think that's so sexy... well and she is actually quite likable. But... she... really looks.... horrible...

Ehehe! personality wise I'm a fine "man". I'm quite likeable and I look horrible! (well, maybe not to the hunchback extent but I'm no brad pit.) Perhaps ST is trying to make more realistic characters that certain people can relate with!

(curse my spelling mistakes!!!)
