View Full Version : Musings on the subject of Special Weapons...

Good Morning (as it is here and now),

I was idly perusing the collection of weapons in my bank earlier, and started to wonder just how many 'rare' weapons I'd found. So, ignoring the 'common-as-muck' Special Weapons (DB'S SABER, BRIONAC, etc.), the 'found-in-a-quest' variety (SOUL EATER, CHAIN SAWD, etc.), the 'bought-in-a-shop' type (DISKA OF BRAVEMAN, LAST SURVIVOR, etc.), and the 'didn't-see-one-for-300-hours-but-have-now-found-several' (DOUBLE SABER and PHOTON CLAW), I was left with:

DELSABER'S BUSTER;
S-BEAT'S BLADES;
TWIN BRAND;
SILENCE CLAW;
1977 AGITO;
2001 AGITO;

With a game timer at 458 hours, played both online and off (about 75 of those hours while I was asleep, mind...)

I was pleased by this, and thought I'd been quite lucky. What I was wondering was (ah, the point of the post at last!):

a) Is this quite good, average, or rather poor?

b) Does the game timer affect the finding of rares (as most of tose items have been found in the last week)?

c) Are certain items only found on specific areas (for instance, I only ever find DOUBLE SABER's in the Mines) or difficulties (on hard difficulty, for example)?

d) Are certain items only ever found online (possibly due to section ID, as, when searching forlornly for a TWIN BRAND, I was advised to investigate games started by an ORAN player. Worked two, after about 55 Mines runs online...)?

Thanks for ploughing through such a long-winded and irrelevant post
