How many of you quit online play due to the Double-save?

I'm sure a lot here are hardcore PSO players who wouldn't no matter what the hazards, but I did. I originally thought that FSOD-X was caused by populated ships/blocks. But I was wrong..when a week before I quit and online buddy I hung out with corrupted while in a block with approx. 2 people.

Big deal, right? No. This person was at level 191. OUCH, yes? I knew I would get angry beyond belief if it happened to me, so I quit online shortly afterwards. I mean, I put three characters in GC farther than I put one in Dreamcast...and also found quite a fair share of nice items.

It's a shame, because the double-save was gone for some reason for a short period of time. A lot of us were happy, but it came back out of nowhere. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

wrong forum. ep3 players arnt affected by a fsod. only thing is corruption seeing we dont carry around items and such.

im pretty sure we arnt afflicted with the double save on ep3, probably because it cant be used to dupe/etc.

Anyway, I was never hit with the double save corruption. But I know MANY people who quit because of it.

That's just your friends at Sega screwing over their players again (installing something that don't work and ends up causing problems...sheesh people!)

I'm sorry but i've never played online and i was wondering what exactly is the double save process and why do you get characters corrupted by this process??

Not I. I hate offline, so for me it is online or nothing. I am level 142 and have never been corrupted. I have had four FSODs though. I will just try to survive by playing on less crowded blocks until PSO+ comes out (assuming it comes out in the U.S.). And when did the double-save go away and then come back? I have been gone for the last six months so I may have missed that.

Well what happens is the game saves twice upon entering a game. Inbetween those saves, should you FSOD, the game won't have a chance to do the proper saving and so, the result is corruption. I was hit by it twice, and still play online. Don't worry much about it though, as long as you stick away from overly crowded ships you won't have as great a chance of the server gliches that could contribute to lag or FSOD.

nah, it hasn't got me to quit yet. The only thing about double save that concerns me the most is losing my guild cards http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif I've corrupted 8 times because of the double save FSOD and it only bothers me when I actually get it. After that, I'm just determined to play again and level up. I`ve had it very recently, but quitting PSO?? Nah...

I see it more like a new challenge, raising characters other than my old Ramar (which was boring me a bit anyway).

Funny thing is... the only time I really got corrupted was in the middle of Gallon's Treachery, and for that extra sense of irony, happened during the time when it seemed the double save was gone.

Doesn't stop me from playing online, though... I just use a USB memory card or two this time around.

I don't play PSO on the Gamecube. I just play PSO on the X-Box online, but if I *ever* got a character corrupted that was higher then about level 40 or so, I'd quit.

I play pso GC, i got a lvl 146 HUmar and never got corrupted and if i corrupt, i wont stop, il continue too play, starting with a new character is like a new chalenge. But im going too be VERY mad if i corrupt.
