FanArt: Fake Wings (It's not .hack fanart!)

*croakily* Don't mind me, I'm sick... Would've finished two days ago if I wasn't.

Anyhoo, it's my HUcaseal, Enriqueta, and I did this in honour of her appearance in Robert Wolf's ficcie. That explains the jungle-esque background thingie. Er, I kinda like it. Scary, huh? I've been so bogged down with my AP Drawing projects that I can't seem to finish (a self portrait in ink, and a very strange piece I call "Maquahuitl mocuepa Xalaquia"... Don't ask.) that I had to do something for myself. As soon as I finish the two pieces I'm behind on for class, I'll be able to do some more of the requests I've had to temporarily shelve.

Er, I picked the name because I was watching .hack//sign as I coloured the Rati, and the song "Fake Wings" was playing, and I thought it would be a good title. *shrug*

The reason she looks emotionless is because she's an android, and I picture her made of solid metal and thus unable to change her facial expression. *G*

Navi, the answer to that is actually "no". I found this pose in a book of action moves (it's a backward roundhouse kick), and I only noticed that it was incredibly similar to dablacksepheroth's Vela pic when I had started colouring it. There's not a lot of the customary attention to detail that traditionally goes with drawings of robots/androids BUT...

It's extremely true to its style. Which is always a bonus. After all, this isn't just a robot-- it's a person! That just happens to be an android...

Anyway, it's rather pleasant to look at, and that's what counts. Good job!

Yeah, there is kinda a lack of detail on it, but mostly because the image is only about seven inches tall, and I couldn't get my pencils sharp enough to add any more little detail markings and such.

Yes, it's true that while I do appreciate the fawning comments from some people (sorry if that sounds mean, I can't think of any other way to put it), I'd like it if people were a bit more constructive, as it's stuff like this that I'm going to school for (w00t for a video game art/design major at a school an hour away!), and I'd like any input I can get from people on my basic art so I can use it on my own concepts.

Even though I have been drawings for years, I recognize that everyone has their own 'style' of drawing. Ever since anime has been introduction and proportions have been blown out of the water. it makes sence to me, and im probably the most enthusiastic critic when it comes to drawings. However, i find nothing wrong with this drawing (that i can see anyway.) i think its great, and i admire the color detail. good job!
