What section i.d. is good for rangers

Depends what you want, if you have other IDs to back it up and what specific things you want.

Make sure you go with an ID that finds the Spread Needle, I suggest Greenil.

purplenum finds better armor, units, shields, weapons, and common items than greenil. I dont see a competition.

I'd say greennill also. Its been pretty decent for me since I restarted my lv 111 RAmar. I used to have a bluefull ID on him and it was horrible - helped out my force though. He's back up into ultimate and so far I've found a bunch of good stuff. Its especially good if you like ranged attack/killing from afar. Don't believe all these greennill haters - its a good ID. Just look at what you can find in ult forest alone: guard wave, frozen shooter, inferno bazooka, wals mk2, justy 23st, and star amplifier. You could even use the stag cutlery and kaladbolg for meleeing. I do and its great. Good Luck with your new ranger!

If you choose a Greennill, expect to be spending a lot of time in Mines and Ruins trying to get the good items... I'm still in Mines trying to get either a Baranz Launcher, a Nug-2000 Bazooka or a Ruby Bullet... so far I've gotten nothing but 2 Yas3ks, 2 Magic Rock "Moola"s and a crap load of Justys.

Don't forget that Purplenum gets yas9k, which is definitely worth making a character for!

Purplenum or Whitill should be good choices.

Purplenum finds, amoung many other, less rare, but sill useful items, Yasminkov 9000M (which puts most mechguns and rifles to shame), Spread Needle (puts virtually every shotgun to shame), and Frozen Shooter (which is uber useful).

Whitill's pretty good as well. Easy to find cure units, some nice pipeable stuff (Red Partisan, Frozen Shooters), some mechs and handguns...and things like that.

I'm not saying that greenil is bad, its just that purplenum is just -better- any way you look at it, unless you happen to be an obscenely huge caves fan, or need about 12 guard waves by monday.

hmm, I'd say purplenum. Whitill and Greenill is pretty decent too. And Yellowboze is good for any character.
