w00t! navi seems to be fixed, somewhat! http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif
This whole thing took a very short time to take sharp and get finished. It feels so good to be able to draw at ease again. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

This is something new that I have not done before,.... I am glad it turned out the way it did. I like it, so, discuss.

so...[insert string of cursewords} AWESOME!!! I love the eye, not the really bright one, but the other one. It creeps me out more than the one emiting light. What did you do for that style, it's so freaking cool! It looks like a thick oil or something.

Wish I had a seal of aproval, course if i did, it would be some pathetic MSpaint pic. So, i guess my seal of aproval shall be... http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Two thumbs up. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif I like it, there is a lot of emotion in the picture. And technique used just really drives it all home.

I was lucky enough to see a few images of this in progress... And indeed, this is a tremendously effective work.

Therefore, this gets the original fan art award--

Don't worry dude, with Navi, sometimes it's hard to tell if it's done by hand or by computer-- she's just that good at what she does.

Wow, am I the only person so far who can immediately recognize digital painting as opposed to real painting? (the main clue is not in brush strokes, but in the texture of the canvas/paper showing through the paint, which this does not have...)

Anyhoo... Very spiffy. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif I would be constructive but I'm sick and at school, so nyah.

Actually, given a good scanning device and the care to tinker with settings, a hand-drawn image can be indistinguishable from a digital image. Just look at, to make a popular example, some of the digital images we have of the Mona Lisa or of some of Van Gogh's work. I'm especially impressed by the recreation of some of these images that are used in classrooms-- They're perfect translations of the image itself, without the medium becoming apparent.

Didnt you have a little difficulty telling Ep 3 CGs were CGs? And how can one tell texture off a monitor, isnt texture supposed to be felt? Hence the name?

you can see it to. Look at a billiard ball, then look at a kickball, or basketball, or football.

Texture in a digital image can be apparent. Unless you've got a very good scanner that allows you to tinker with settings to prevent it, the florescent light the scanner uses to reflect the image back at itself will allow the medium to cast shadows on itself. Also, any part of the medium that isn't flat against the scanner bed will fuzz in proportion to its distance. Thus, texture becomes visually apparent.

I still don't think they were originally CGs (maybe marker images touched up with photoshop, but they don't look like any CGs I've ever seen, and I've looked at thousands on DeviantArt). Or maybe we're not talking about the same images. *shrug*

Can grab and example and dicuss about it? I think it'd be very interesting.

Probably it's a mixture of mediums and touched up with CG, but I don't have a sharp eye to look for these types of things.
