What type of Broadband (Cable or DSL)

If Broadband, what type of modem (if it has a USB or ethernet connection)

How you are setting it up (such as Broadband router, or linked through computer)

If using a router, what type (company and wired/wireless)

Description of error(s)

What type of cables being used

The error occurs immediatly before the ship selection screen, which because this is my first time setting up the darn thing, is something I have never seen. >:(

System (Gamecube, XBox, Computer)
GameCube

Dial-up or Broadband
Broadband

Internet Service
Bellsouth

What type of Broadband (Cable or DSL)
DSL

If Broadband, what type of modem (if it has a USB or ethernet connection)

How you are setting it up (such as Broadband router, or linked through computer)
It's straight through a broadband modem to the system

If using a router, what type (company and wired/wireless)
The Modem is Westell Wirespeed Modem.

Description of error(s)
Essential, I lode it up, get the stupid Notice window, and then press any button, and I get the back ground for about 5 minutes till it pops up with the message "no 100...etc." it's in my title topic.

What type of cables being used
Ethernet, don't know the brand

So you are connecting straight from the Modem to the GC? Also, does your ISP require you to login to use their DSL service (ie. username and password?) Also what type of DSL is it, PPPOE or PPPOA?

Yes.

No, it doesn't use passwords or usernames. It just is there and let's you go at it. They might be saved somewhere, but I doubt it.

I'm guessing PPPOA, because It's not PPPoE like on the setup page. Truthfully, I don't know how to tell this one, I'm just guessing.

I've successfully visited the site and even bought my hunters liscence on it, but it's only when I try to go into the game that I have trouble.

Hope this helps... http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

Seems to me a number of people have problems with BellSouth DSL. I think it may be the Modem. Is it a Modem/Router? if so I believe the Westell modems can be set to use PPPOE. I'm not that familiar with BellSouth's service however so I'll send you to a place that can definitely help you with all that. Remember to be very specific when describing your setup and what you are trying to do.

I don't, however, you'll find that some of the members there are amazing in their knowledge and should easily be able to help you get it set up and running. They know the service and they know the modems inside and out so it shouldn't take long to get it figured out. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

your last resort then is to use ICS (internet connection sharing) That will get you online when all else fails.

How does one initiate that?

Please, do divulge your divine secrets O_O

You'll need to connect the dsl modem to your computer, using an ethernet cable or a usb cable if it has one. Make sure that works before going any further. After testing it, connect the gamecube to your computer using a crossover cable - not a strait cable! Then you gotta turn ics on...which I can't remember the exact steps for.. Just to go network connections and look around ^_^; Also, I tried calling Nintendo, Sega, and Bellsouth when I was having this problem, they gave me no help whatsoever =P

It is from the website for X-Box Live!. Its to get your X-Box connected to the internet with ICS, but the process should be extremely similar to getting another PC or console online.

Jelly im having the same problem and same ISP/modem, but this was already disscussed. Anyways I set it up like this. Phone Jack>(Phone Cord)>Modem>(USB)>Computer>(FastCAT5ewithICScapabilities)>GC. And it doesn't work. :/ . I've tried all three different types of conection. (Auto IP, Manual IP, and PPPoE). I called Sega and they 1) Don't really care 2) Don't know enough about my computer. I called BellSouth and 1) They don't really care 2) Don't know anything about the GCN. I called Nintendo and they 1)Don't really care and 2) Don't Kniw enough about the PSO setup for online connection or my computer. :/ There's no middle man or anything. Frankly BellSouth SUX! I think im going to try a new ISP. I dunno Devin, you're a Bellsouth/Westell guy right? Can you explain in excrutiating detail why tis not working. Perhaps go over everything you have set up. What connection thru pso, what each tab says under the connection you have ICS enabled? We need help and the only person(s) who know anything about it are you, and VioletSky but unfortunately Violet, as he/she said before, doesn't know much about BellSouth. So we will all turn and stare at both you and this topic in hopes that furure efforts will bring us the answers we need. Untill then we wait. If I or anyone else gets it I/we will be sure to post.
