I have been waiting for the next Ninja Gaiden game ever since the third one was released back in 1991. And I was only 8 years old at the time. You have no idea how much I have been waiting for this game.

Lucky for me, the store I work in is getting the game and selling it Tuesday night....oh dammit, why isn't it Tuesday night yet?!!!

This is probably going to be the driving reason behind me getting an Xbox.

Or I'll mooch off my brother. Looks pretty nice, anyways. Hopefully the Live implement will be pretty good.

I'm stoked about it. I don't have the cash to pick it up at launch, but it'll definately be one of the first games I pick up when I get some spare dough. Shame it's just Xbox only. Not cause I think the PS2 or NGC deserves the title - but because a lot of blind fanboys who won't get an Xbox out of "principal", are going to miss out on what looks to be one helluva game.

Heh.. then again.. I'm really glad the PS2's limited graphics weren't a factor in making the game. The graphics just look mindblowing. Granted.. graphics are not a big issue.. but it's definately some very sweet frosting on this cake. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

I was with you up unti the little graphics joke on PS2. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_nono.gif i prefer a solid outing over a beautiful disaster anyday.

Honestly, I don't think the PS2 has had a really solid outing. Not from my point of view anyhow. I mean, there's a lot of good games - but not too many GREAT games IMO. Not a whole lot that just makes you sit back in awe.

Granted, the Xbox hasn't had a whole lot either.. but with games like Marrowind, Fable, Ninja Gaiden, TFLO, ect either here or on the horizon - it's definately got some brightly shining gems for the system.

That's pretty much why I loved the Dreamcast so much, and really like my NGC despite having an intense hatred for Nintnedo as a company.

Yea your right PS2 has not had the best outing but they to have a few solid games in there lineup you must have fogotten games like MetalGear 2 and Sons of Liberty. It also depends on what type of games you like i mean. Jak & daxter is a very good game what about Dark Cloud 2 * Which probly would have been action rpg of the year if it was not for Zelda- WW* i love al systems but come on Xbox has also been off to a very lack luster start we are just banking on the future http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif and also the majority of good Xbox games are either graphiclly enhanced rehatches of PS2/GC games or pretty weak i give a few good ones ex:halo,Top Spin Tennis,Marrowwind although i have never played it i hear alot of good stuff about it. and i also have no idea about project gothem anyway im not a system basher.

i just wish microsoft developed a little thing called originality.

I am chapter 4 right now....a little lost, but hey, might as well earn as much essence as I need to buy me those pretty armlets and plenty of elixers...as well as explore.

To get past the first boss...don't approach him. Let him come to you. And stay close to the wall. Keep blocking and counter attacking, but don't keep to close to him all the time, as he will throw you. If that doesn't work out for you, then lure him to the wall and when he gets close, do a flip off the wall and press X. I had a good succession of hitting him with that (and it did the most amount of damage) and if he does dodge it, it gives you time to roll away from him. Oh yeah, and NEVER USE Y. He will counter attack you with a throw.

I have played the demo a few times at Gamestop and the boss killed me like 3 times. I got good enough were I could get to the boss without hardly getting hit at all, and have 5 elixirs to use, and he would pwn me.
I guess I should have thought of a strategy other than what I used on the normal ninjas i had fought.

You can basically ignore the bow and arrow one. Keep you guard up and wait for the spear one to try and ram you. When he get close, dodge, and then hit as hard as you can. Eventually, he will fall off and fight like the other samurais. Another spear one will come and take care of him. Then you can worry about the Bow and Arrow one...which will be followed by another bow and arrow one.

After that you got the boss...another Samurai on a horse...with those Monk guys who shoot fireballs at you. I hope you have a Devil Elixer or two, cause the Art of the Fire wheel comes in real handy at this time. Take out the Monks when you need health (you have a pretty good shot of them dropping blue essences), and do the same technique as you did fighting the spear samurais (only he will not fall off his horse).

And Chapter 5 and I got the Windmill Star.

Normal. And the only rewards you get is extra karma and a better ranking (ie Hard Ninja, Lesser Ninja, etc)...at least at this moment. Not sure if that has some bigger and more important aspect (say like unlocking the classic Ninja Gaidens).

And yellow essence will be pretty hard to come by until Chapter 4. Enemies don't reappear after you kill them until then. But tip for you is try to keep up combos. The more hits you get in the combos, the more you get out of essences (very helpful especially on the blue ones). And in Chapter 4, you will want to have your sword upgraded (though as early as possible is my real recommendation, but the game is hard), and the Moon or Sun Armlet (Sun increases attack, Moon increases defense).

And like I said, if the enemies are seemingly getting to hard...the Art of the Fire Wheel is your friend.

I recieved a rank of lesser Ninja http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_nono.gif im so embarrassed

RuneLateralus

At least you didn't Ninja Dog. That is the lowest rank. Never gotten that yet (mainly just gotten Greater Ninja thanks to massive essence gatherings).

*minor spoiler*

Wait until you get to Chapter 6. At the bottom of the level, you get this weapon called the Vigoorian Flail (you might have used these if you played the demo). They are basically Kama blades that are connected and used like Nunchaku (only more damaging and have some amazing combos...you can get over 100 hits with them if you fight with them correctly), but you also start to see some Zombies....and those things are tough. Really tough. Luckily, the Dragon Fossil (boss) is not that hard to figure out as some of the other bosses can be. I had to face him twice (I died after fighting him the first time and had to restart at my last save...which was before him), and was able to beat him (though I had to use all my elixers...make sure to perfect dodging his biting attack, it will take away a huge chunk of your health...and by huge, I mean the equivilant of 3/4 of what your health bar is).
