I noticed when I went on, my rank was like 2530: champ

while people on the domestic were like 2550: rookie

So I'm assuming the ranks are seperate???

was the best way to seperat rankings for jap. and us version, otherwise it would be impossible for a us version player to catch up rank.

yeah i might be unfair to US players to put them in the same rankingsystem like the JP players. but when u can earn LORD rank after one tournament you know the US ranks aint worth shit.

Not yet at least. Give it a few months.

exactly give it some time.
If you already have "Rank" status when you are placed 2500 or so. Surely becoming Lord is dead easy.
When I logged on the JPN version I was RANK : 9000+
Now I am 500-600 with Lord. On JPN when you are below 1300 you get the Lord status. So that would that there are about 13,000 players online. And I have seen people on the JPN version with RANK : 12,000+

Ranks are based on % of total players that ever logged online (10% or so of the total players are Lord for example, 1% is King etc. etc.), the more players you have the harder it is to get a higher rank. I think it is good that they keep it seperate, but a world ranking would have been cool, instead of a region ranking.

But World Ranking would be kinda unfair... US/EU player could never reach 200.000- 800.000 meseta. And when they do, jp EP3 player will have already far over 1mio meseta. You would never see a US/EU King.... heh

Ranking is determined by how much meseta you have? No wonder it goes down when you use the jukebox...suckage.

No, no, ranking is based on your total *earned* meseta. Your spending is irrelevant.

One of the reasons why I think online games should be shipped at the same time,

I think they should have made it like so that you have both a versionrank and a worldrank. So you could like, press "R" again and you would see worldrank there. Would have been nice.

Bit annoying I must say with 2500:ROOKIE when Iam 2500:CHAMP. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Think I'll pick up the PAL|E-version when released and try to become GOD in that version. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif As of now, I'll ofcourse try and get as far as possible in JP-version.http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

The Ranks are shared to US and JP.
And they arent combined with your maximum Mesetas. U can get up the Rank when u beat a player whos higher than u.

...They just stated above that ranks are not shared...

And for the rest of your message, I really can't figure it out. What you mean that is.

You guys with US copies of the game, what happens when you go online in Japanese language mode (assuming its there), does that change your ranking any?

Man, why couldn't it have been the other way around? lol.

Anyway, my sister was on EpI&II (US, yea, she owns it) and I seen some EpIII player. I seen the rank system...and its obvious they're not the same as the JP ones

So what happen if a lower rank USA/JP defeated a higher rank of JP/USA now? Do you still get the same bonus? Or nothing will cahnge because the rank count was seperate?

The meseta obtained is always the same regardless if the opponent has better or worse rank.
It goes Like this.
1st round: 100 meseta. Each round is +100 meseta more. Final is +400 meseta. And if the opponent is a human add +300.
So the maximum is a final against human in 4 rounds tournament. 3 rounds = 300 + 400 of final + 300 of human = A total of 1000 meseta.

the only thing that is linked to the lvl of the player you won against, is exp. if the lvl of the player you beat is a lot higher than ur own, u get up to 40 exp for the win.

i mean that the Mesetas are just for the Jukebox, the Auction and the Shop.
U can get up your Rank when u beat Players with higher Rank than yours.

You do not get a higher rank for beating a character, lower or higher, in regular battle. Rank is based on totally earned amount of meseta. Meseta can only be obtained in tournaments. You can, as you mentioned use your meseta to buy different things etc. However, as earlier mentioned (I think) using meseta doesn't affect your rank, for it is based on totally earned amount.

So, to ask again, what happens if you put your Ep 3 into Japanese mode? Any effect on your ranking?
