Both classes have their ups and downs. FOnewm can do a little bit more damage despite having less MST than a FOnewearl (I have tested this with maxed MST on both classes and no weapons/boosting stuff). The Ra tech boost really helps out a lot, but FOnewearls seem better to me for a couple reasons. First off, they have a lot more MST/TP potential, so they probably won't run out of TP as much while you're nuking enemies. Second, they don't look ugly as sin.

FOnewms aren't ugly, FOnewms are the best character in the game =D, and they look very well =D, but it's ok, i like the fact that 99% of PSO players hate FOnewm for their look, as they can't see that they look better than the other males, the costume it's funny and elegant, the hats are nice, the facepaint it's better than the other FOs, and he's teh killing machine!!! but i like that just a few can see that, so then 0.01% of the PSO poblation are FOnewms!!! YAY!!! we're teh uniqueness XD

As for the rest of you, try to keep the FOnewm bashing to a minimum. The last time someone made a topic that led to FOnewm bashing (see every other topic), well.... I had to resort to saying some rather nasty things. This topic is about choosing between FOnewearl or FOnewm. If people don't like the way FOnewm looks, then I couldnt possibly see why they would choose a FOnewearl. They are like male/female variations of each other. Duh...

Back on topic. I'd have to agree with joluh, go for the FOnewm.

And yeah i know, he just asked the best caster... but hey there's no reason using something you don't like how it looks ^_~

Also i had to do that because everyone it's always saying bad things about my FOnewms, just because many people "loves stereotypes" and likes calling their characters Shoot, Killer, Goku, 1337, etc...

And true that, you could say in PSO there are only 6 gameplaying styles, just pick if you wanna use the male or the female version, i don't have problem using just male or just female, but i like using at least 1 male so i can relate to him a lot more than with the females

Also, FOnewm can do it very well at EP2... all you need there it's Barta and Zonde

Equip your FOnewm with Yellow Merge + Ice Dragon Staff or Blue Megere + Storm Wand Indra, or any of those 2 merges with the c-sorceror's cane and just go and kick ass ^.^

Well, for starters, lets say this. (These are Facts)

If a Foie is Lvl 10. It takes 16 Tp with a Power of 550.

A Rafoie at lvl 10. It takes 32 Tp with a power of 548.

Now with 10 enemies. You'll probably hit, lets say 3 at a time with Rafoie.

Ok. Now see this chart.

Foie: 10x16= 160 TP x However many hits it takes.
Rafoie: 32x4= 128 TP x However many hits it takes.

BUT! By the time you have the MST for Rafoie lvl 10, you have enough for Foie lvl 18! Soooooo look at this...

Foie lvl 18: TP: 27 Power: 1020!

So, 1 Foie to over kill things.
So, lets say it takes 3 RAfoies to kill things here.

Foie: 27x10 = 270 TP
Rafoie: 32x12 = 384 TP

See the difference now?

and reality check, those numbers are about switched when you get up to level 26-30 techniques...because foie ends up costing 5 more tp than rafoie...

1. Rafoie hits just about everything in the room, not just 3 or so enemies

2. Basic techs does ALOT of damage with FOnewearl and is great when there is only one enemy (bosses)

3 Gifoie owns both of the others IM(C)O. More damage than Rafoie, bigger range, and possible to hit multiple waves w/ 1 gifoie, more targets than foie and it's cheaper.

As Lain2k3 said, Newm=ep1, Newearl=ep2

I would reccomend the Newm. He has better animations, techier boosts, and you can always fix the penetrating megid problem with demonic fork.

Offline, FOnewm. Online, FOnewearl.

You're never going to be dealing even remotely effective damage with either online. Enough to let a HU hit a couple less times, but not enough to solo. Might as well go with the one that'll give you an easier time supporting a team.

I like FOnewms solo offline, but I have a tendancy to loathe the stupider ones in teams who blindly spam Rafoie with no regard to elemental weaknesses or damage cancel. The intelligent ones are few and far between. There are a bunch of stupid FOnewearls, too.(Do NOT use Megid with me in a team. I will loathe you for all eternity. Lots of other people will too. If you must use it, wait until everyone has hit everything at least once before you start dropping half of seabed in one shot.)

FOnewm: 1.3x damage Gi/Ra techs
FOnewearl: 1.3x damage simple techs, penetrating Megid, 2x Resta/Anti range.

They can both be made ugly or decent. *shrug* Most FOnewearls I've seen are ugly. XP

To whoever that suggest foie and rafoie at level 10 calculation, I'd like to say this. By the time you have lvl 30 techs, it matters very little which one you use. Your TP is going to go down like crazy anyway.

Online with a tech newm is quite a challenge, as Ian already said, online monsters have insane resistance so you won't be doing much damage with techs anyway. But it's a challenge, and a fun one to try to SD everyone, heal and anti everyone.
