Someone posted a question about the music to PSO, saying they were looking for a website to get it. I would like to repost the question since it deserves a polite answer and not the abrupt locking of the topic and curt answer that it received.

Now, is there a website where one can legally acquire the music to PSO? for example, a CD of the music? a legal MP3 download? or in some other form?

to the administrators of this site: before locking a topic and getting on your high horses about cheating and stealing, please take the time to respond to a post in a polite and factual manner.

The appropriate response to the above request would have been:
"no, unfortunately, at this time there is no legal way of getting the music from PSO".
or
"yes, at the following website , you can purchase the CD for XXX price".

there is a Sound Room on the game, select OPTIONS at the home screen instead of ONLINE GAME or OFFLINE GAME.

I have gotten most of my anime and game soundtracks I own from CD Japan: http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/ Their site is being redone at the moment and is closed, so I couldnt check to see if they had it in stock. They are VERY kind and helpful to inquiries. If you dont see it when you check -- e-mail them. They will get it for you if it is in print.

And.. the hundreds of hours (or thousands for some of us) hearing the PSO music over the years now while playing isnt enough for you? *wink wink* http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

actually, no, lol I lov ethe music to this game.

BUT, the real reason I posted this question was that someone else posted the exact same question, but instead of getting the two answers that I have received so far (both super, by the way, thank-you to you guys for answering), he was told that he wasn't allowed to post that kind of question, then his post was locked.

Sorry. I didnt read with enough detail. I thought your topic was closed and this was a second request. Yeah, I think the original was closed simply because of the mp3 request being mentioned and that is justification enough to lock the topic, imho.

Also, I love the music too. Simply a bit of attempted humor. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

The music is good and all, but I think their names don't make much sense. I mean when your fight olga flow 's first form I think they play the song "IDOLA have the immortal feather" Does that really fit with fight falz. Because its meaning doesn't really fit if you ask me.

Gotta be specific or it will get locked. The time it takes for us to wait for a response of whether or not they meant to actually purchase the music or get it illegally, someone could have solicited where to download it, etc.

All it takes is being specific, because quite often people want to know where to get the game illegally and all that, and due to us being on Gamespy, it is heavily monitored by our staff.

And don't turn it back on us being on "high horses", for shit's sake that is so overdone.

I do too. I only have the soundtrack for the original PSO (http://www.gamemusic.com/dept/101/productdetail.asp?dept=101&cat=10036&itemid=10153&uid=1654200309299106&firstview=0&whichpage=), but I plan to grab the ep. I&II (http://www.gamemusic.com/dept/101/productdetail.asp?dept=101&cat=10036&itemid=10715&uid=1654200309299106&firstview=0&whichpage=) set eventually. Probably some time after I buy an Xbox and actually start playing it. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_nerd.gif

Anyway, www.gamemusic.com has always been good to me; I've been shopping with them for about seven years. As a second choice, www.animenation.com offers better prices on occasion, but their selection is much smaller, and you can't tell if something is in stock or not with their ambiguous "Usually ships the next business day, unless backordered" tag under their item prices. If you call them, they can tell you if something is in stock, whereas gamemusic.com tells you right on the product page. And animenation does special orders, while gamemusic does not.

Neither company has ever done me wrong, though.

If you want high horse MODs then go to GameFaqs : /.

I believe http://www.vgmusic.com sells soundtracks or has links to where you can buy them. You could try amazon.com to.

Exactly why more often than not, these threads get locked. Someone asks for music, and someone all-but offers where they can get it illegally.

Read afew posts above and read what I had just posted.

So it is illegal to offer it as a download on a site, or aren`t there just sites having the OST`s? I do know a site offering PSO I+II OST (won`t post) but not completely and I would like to finish my collection http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

The ep3. OST would be nice to have aswell, the official PSO III site features some pretty good new PSO music!!

It's illegal to download music which is being sold and licensed, just as it's illegal to download a full version of a game that isn't released by it's developer/publisher as freely distributable.

Speaking of music.... Why don't you just like... Make your own CD to the game? Like... take a recorder from the computer and play the song, record it and so on. But then again. That wouldn't count as "ILLEGALY" using the music now would it? Because you HAVE the game. You just happened to record the music. o_o...

Quality would be very bad, I don`t even have a mic to use and it would take waaaay more time to do it aswell. Besides all of this I don`t have all the tracks availible in PSO I&II and I`d rather have the CD quality. But the concept was good http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Line-in on your audiocard is your friend. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif That's how I recorded my soundtrack, and kept basically the same quality, not enough to hear the difference. *gently pats Audigy 2 and whispers sweetnothings to it*

Still it takes much longer and isn`t easier than downloading it.

Discussion over if it's just going to boil down to recording the music or downloading it.

Here are the links to actually purchase the CD's:
