I still consider myself somewhat of a "noob" on some aspects of this game, so I need a bit of advice. Since playing I've been fond of using the HUcast, Hucaseal, RAcast, and RAcaseal. But I haven't found a dependable way of deploying the traps to any great effectivness, (other than being surrounded and managing to get one up to cut your way thru on the HUcast, HUcaseal). It also seems kind of pointless when you have to "ring around the mine" with the group of creatures following you, before it goes off. I'm sure there is somthing missing here, care to share some enlightenment? Thanks in advance!

I don't know anything to this but, I know this: Traps will be useful more than you know when you've reach a high Lv.

A good handgun can work wonders with traps http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

What you can do is set a trap, then get the enemies to chase you towards the trap, have a Handgun, Mechgun, Rifle, Shot,(if you are a Racast/Racaseal), or Slicer and with one of those shot the trap and BOOOOM goes the trap! Kindda like this... http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_quickdraw.gif This is what I do on my Hucaseal. Hope this helps. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_hamster.gif

As well RAcaseals and RAcasts can use shots to trigger your traps without having to aim much.

oh I have a high lvl hucast and I love my traps, here's the scoop use freeze traps on big groups of enemies and on hildebears and such then for those bigger groups use a partisan or a sword or a slicer and for the hildebear or delsaber use your best single targeting weapon and just hack a way.don't use damage traps they are the worst thing ever but, confuse traps are good for getting enemies to weakon themselves then while there hitting eachother use a slicer and add extra damage.
(sorry about spelling and stuff)

Just a minor note, Damage Traps were overpowered in v2. The nerfage is quite extreme compared to v3

I really almost never use damage traps, because I just don't like them http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif But I like to use confuse and freez e trap a lot, it just seems they always comes in handy. Lets say your surround by many enemies, I would deploy a freeze trap or a confuse trap...

freeze trap: after deploying this (make sure enemies are together so they all get frozen) get out a sword/partsian weapon and just slash away!

Confuse trap: after deploying run away and let them hit eachother, and like some of the people said earlier use a gun weapon to hit them from far away.

Damage trap: don't really know, don't really use http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif

Hope this helps! http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Agreed, I've found the damage traps a waste of time so far, (maybe higher in level they'll be better). Freeze traps are the best, (set em up, then run in with Partisen, Halberd, Brionac etc., as Double pointed out) Gonna have to try the handgun technique Skye, (currently have Varista +12 just can't aim straight enough). And the Confuse is just fun to watch! http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Outside of hitting Rappies when they get up and killing all the slimes instantly, I don't see much of a use for damage traps. I guess they could be used for tagging enemies for exp online.

I use damage traps with my hucaseal as lily distractors, thye wokr wonders in addicting food, waterfall tears, and temple. the highly concentrated lillies in these places will kill you very fast with megid if not constantly in check. I drop a trap as I run by them, then get a better angle from inside the room with my ranged weapons.

and it doesnt waste a freeze trap. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif

As ppl have said damage traps are for slime killing and dropping over dead rappys so they blow up when they come back to life.

About the dead rappy part it's not very true, because the higher lv. you are the faster your trap will be activited so if you are actually over lv. 100 it only takes around 3 to 5 seconds before one trap is activited. So it is very hard to controll unless you know how the the rappy is going to move again. But again that is also very hard to predict since that varies. So I would'nt think that is a very smart idea, I would just go with a gun http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_yes.gif

Is the time before the trap detonates not determined by the difficulty level?? If it's not, then I've been greatly misleading myself for a while now...

The trap detonation time is detemined by difficulty.
they go off quicker as difficulty increases.

damage traps are perfect for fake in yellow groups in ultimate.

I have a pretty high level HUcast, and the damage traps
haven't helped me at all. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

I also found out that androids get more traps every couple levels.

Damage traps-+1 every 11 levels
Freeze traps-+1 every 7 levels
Confuse traps-+1 every 7 levels
2 Slow during battle mode.

Anyway, if you think your traps don't explode soon enough, it's because you're not a high enough level.
I'd use one of the strategies the other people mention.

...

My bad...

But what is the point of making it detonate faster in more diffcult levels? Is it because enemies move faster?
