View Full Version : DB's Sword 3067... Common? I Think SO!

On my way to beating Vol Opt v.2, going through the mines about 3 rooms in, I find a DB's Sword from a Canabin. I thought Ok, pretty cool. A couple of rooms later. Another DB's Sword.

So when I get down to Mines 2. In the second room. When I destroy all the enemies. There are 3 red boxes! The first 2 are DB's Swords and the other one is a PD. A couple of rooms later, another PD.

That was 4 DB's Swords in one run. 2 in one room. Which puts me up to five

Obviously you're Redria. Yeah, that's a very common drop. It's equivallent to the average common 9-star weapon drop, which is a base rate of 1/64 (1.5625%) before adjusting to enemy drop-anything rates. With the Canabin drop-anything rate of 35%, it comes to an average drop rate of about 1/183.

Hmmm, if it really is as common as Vulpes claims to be, then why does everybody want one ? =/

doesnt kind of look like a regular DB's Saber? And I want one too!

Well, it is THE weakest rare saber ... (worse then the original DB's Saber...)

-_-;

For the looks, it's just a slightly differently shaped, and a bit green on the blade.

Why do people want these things? I've come across 17 of these bloody things and I've only done a handful of Mines runs.

Yep, I played one run of TTF with heyF00L the other night and got one, so I know whatcha mean by easy to get. He started to laugh when he realized what I got. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif At least you don't get 9-star canes EVERYWHERE, as some of us Pinkals are accustomed to getting.

That was a typo. Everybody makes mistakes. Some people more than others...

Primrose
Mar 11, 2004, 09:38 AM
The reason why people want it is because its a collectors item.
Like Flowens Swords and section ID cards, DBs swords are section ID specific rares, some being very common and some being very rare.
But of course, they are weak, no doubt...

Geeze, if anybody wants a DB's Sword AUW 3073, I'll probably trade a hell of a lot of them when I get online.

If youre talking about Flowens Sword: i meant all the replicas, not the original, as the originals ones are worth it anyway, but Firocket1690 was wondering why people want these items...
so my argument is people want them for collecting reasons.

Even at max grind the original Flowens Sword remains an average Sword.

there are NO REAL FLOWENS OR DB'S SWORDS.

they are all replicas.

the yellowboze verisons may be the best ones, but they are not real.

Depends on how you define "best." The Yellowboze DB's Sword is the strongest, but the Redria one has the highest ATA of any saber in the game.

I think i know why evertone wants one. They think its like a gigush not a saber. They probably haven't seen one and don't know what it is.(Idiots):disapprove:

lain2k3,
Is it really necessary to explain why i used the term "real" in my sentence...?

You know yourself that they are the only ones matching the Armors and Shields.

Actually, they arent. the most common variants are the only ones that work with the combos, not the yellowboze variants.

Hm, actually i totaly mixed up the one on Flowens Sword, Yellowboze is the most powerful one (still remains average)
...had to double check.
But regarding the DBs Sword, i never said it was on Yellowboze, that wasnt me.
But the real one is DBs Saber anyway.

I'd have to say that it is above average. It's a fairly easy drop, has good atp, pretty easy to get one with hit, and has an awesome special (for non-droids of course). As for why people want any DB's sword, I'd say it's for the same reason people want agito 1975 (collectors item or they're stupid IMO)

Average ? http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif
Use them, then we'll talk about average
There are only 3 sabers better than DB's Sword AUW 3075, and 3075 being so common, you get high odds at good %, and 11 classes can use it.

Flowen's Sword AUW 3084 is the most powerful special sword with a "double damage" special (clearly more powerful than Zanba), Spirit easily makes it the best Sword for HUmar/HUnewearl, unless you are a Tsumikiri user... again, its lack of rarity make the odds at good % high, especially since this is Yellowboze.

"Replica of a saber once used by the military. An extremely common replica."
If it's the real one, why does it say "replica" in the description twice? The simple fact is that they're all replicas and that there isn't a real one. Only the 9 stars provide the boosts with the corresponding set, most likely due to ST not adjusting things so that all of them will provide the boost.

Average because i wouldnt hunt one for its power, but rather as a collectors item, as i am collector. I clearly prefer Red Sword, but your arguments are legitimate Kef.

But Sounomi, i already said why i called it real, well actually i used to word original in the first place, but its not of importance anyway.
If you prefer it, i shall just call it the one that matches with the shield/armor.
But really, its just a matter of word usage/definition, nothing to make a fuss about, most important thing is you know what i mean by real.

We could also debate about special attacks, since Sonic Team calls them extra attacks.

Uh, no you must have understood something wrong Tsudo_Plat, only Flowens Sword (Yellowboze) has a special attack.
The thing with the special attack was just somewhat off topic, because everyone here says special attack, whereas the booklet refers to it as extra attack. I said it because i was talking about definitions, and usage of certain words...
Hm, read the whole topic, before i get too confuzed...

Sounomi, item descriptions are not worth much anyway, i think you realized that latest when you started working on your database.

But, its not like im not also saying special attack.
But while were at it, we could classify all Rods as battle canes... and er... ^_^
(sorry, im getting a little off topic here...)

The 3084 Flowen's Sword is neat... it's actually white, unlike the other ones I've seen which are blue or green. Do they all have minor visual variations like that in addition to their statistical differences?

Yes, all the visuals are the same, they tint differently depending on location, such as looking really bad in forest, and really seksi in ruins and mines.

Hmm... the rest might look the same, but the 3084 Flowen's is definitely, uniquely W-H-I-T-E. Definitely. I'd show you screens but I would need someone who could actually equip the sword, lol. I've seen it in action before myself, though. It's a stark contrast to the usual blue/green variety.
