It seems Hunters can only cast techs through Tech OK items, but not through themselves? Arkz can do this.

Is this correct?

I think so.

Well, that would truly be a bad mechanic. Even in PSO Ep. 1 & 2, you could cast barehanded.

It seems if a Hunter is empty-handed, the only thing they can play are action cards, so what it the point of giving them TP?

No, Hunters can cast techs as well, its just that if they have a weapon equipped, that takes precedence of any personal ability they may have.

also some techs like megid and resta have to be cast through the story character even if you have weapons equiped they will attach to the sc instead

It does kind of suck that with Hunter characters eqipping a weapon takes away some of the advantages of the SC card itself, but that's just how they work it seems.

ya, it's weird, but I guess there wouldn't be any point to medgid going on a wand since higher TP wouldn't help it, I guess resta is the same way.
