Violin Music!

stick to classical (time period) type sounds with violins, everything else hurts

Quiet all of you. Bands that throw in non-traditional instruments in (ie. instruments not usually found in a rock group) rock. Like the mad orchestrations on some Oasis tracks. (To be fair, I saw the Yellowcard video... the only redeeming quality they have is the violin... otherwise, it's just a standard punk band.)

But uh, yeah... I play the violin. Well, I haven't since last year, but I'm sure I still know one or two things about it. Unfortunately, I'm not quite sure what you're asking...

Please, if you really want a violinist, make sure it's a good one! If they're good, they're very good, but if they're bad, they're terrible...

You could always compose some of it on the computer? Warm strings are usually a good replacement for a violinist.

See if you can find some music by Aaron Meyer. He's a concert violinist that playes a combination of classical, modern, and new age (usually all at the same time). He does some pretty interesting original scores as well as renditions of classics.
