if your in the UK (as it says on your location) then make sure that your using 60hz mode. 50hz is an EU only deal

It's probably just a temporary difficulty......although with ST EU, it's going to escalate and you will get 1 day HL back even though it's been down for 4 days and promised (phoned up) that it'll be back up -.-

personally i'd never trade off speed (17ish% i believe) with a slightly higher resolution that nobody is ever going to notice

That's what I heard from a friend, yet I think it's only technical difficulties. This usually happens from time to time when ST finishes their maintenence.
