i finally got PSO Online after awhile but i always have the problem with my controller ports blowing out! (I've went through 4 Dreamcasts this way (taking them back and getting a new one)) Its making me really mad, i think its because one time i tried take a picture when i inserted a new controller in the DC port, can anybody tell me what i shouldn't do in order to keep my Dc ports safe? thanks.

Hmmm... on 4 consecutive DC's? Could it be the VMU that is causing the problems? I thought it might be the controller @ first but assume they have been swapped along with the system when returned.

This is the first I've ever heard of the ports blowing out though. But common rules should apply: Don't plug in a new controller when the DC is already on.

weird...

Are you using Sega brand controllers or 3rd party stuff? (MadKatz, Performance, etc.) I don't think it should make a difference, but Sega might.

Also, do you have your DC plugged into a surge protector? Get one if you don't. Plug the TV into it, too. Rule of thumb for surge protectors is you should spend 10% as much as what your protecting cost.

Hope this helps....

Its either the vmu^^^^^ or a voltage problem. My guess is voltage. Whatever socket your hooking this up 2 is probably...higher voltage than required...or just a wacky socket. Check it out.

If it's the controller ports, then it is because of a 3rd party controller or VMU.
