Is it the GC or the game?

When I was playing this morning. When I turned on my gamecube the game goes to the menu as usual but when I click on one of the items on the menu, you see it takes you to the other screen and there was a flash and the screen turned black and you are back to the original main menu. SO ARGH! Can't play! I tried just about everything! I switched controllers, cleaned the disk. But still it doesn't work! Know what's wrong with this?


EDIT: Alright this is getting annoying but there's a second problem *grumble grumble* I fixed that first one, it has something to do with the keyboard so I just replugged the keyboard. Now everytime when I start up when it first says "welcome to minhiro" screen, DOESNT SHOW UP! OMG my game/GC really have problems. Did you try playing other games on it? If you did, and got the same result, then obviously its your GC. If not, then there is something wrong with the disk. Are there any large scratches on the disk? Have you tried using a disk repair kit? Do you know anyone else that has a GC that you could try the disk on to see if it works on another machine?

So you do or did not get the 'Minhoro screen' and what error does it show up after that?
