1) Why is the limit for the sigs so small? I mean, I can understand people overusing it, but I wanted to have my sig like

Save it, load it up in Paint, and save as and select .jpg

They're only bitmap because bitmap images are better quality: As such small images, they don't take much time to load anyways.

They're all seperate because I wanted different links for each one, but I guess I could change it to be 2 on 2 on 2 with only 3 links. I'll change it later

Don't forget that you can make one image and use HTML to make an imagemap or whatever it is... or using Flash to make a SWF file. That would work too.

sig limits are in place because if there weren't you won't have fun loading the forums. and yes we're keeping it at that size. if you cannot for the greater good of the members and people of this forum, sacrifice just a little bit of barely noticeable quality and just think of yourself, well then you're not really a good member of the community.

I have my monitor resolution at 1280X1024, and seriously, the sig limit is at a very reasonable resolution size to make a good sig. If they start getting any bigger, they're much more than a "signature" they're empty, ugly space. It's a signature, not a personal shrine about yourself.

Some might not like the image file size limits, but most users don't want to add to the loading times to PSOW.

some other forums ive seen, dont have sig limits, and peoples sigs look hideous and stupid. most of the time the sig is at leats 3-4 times bigger than the posts the make. its just stupid. massive sigs also break up the posts too much as well. its stupid when you cant look at 2 consecutive posts on a forum because you have to scroll for over a screens worth of sig.

Yeah http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_disapprove.gif at CG there are no sig limits in size, and despite the rules I wrote, some people create sigs over 500 KB big >_< The admin cannot make it so I can take out sigs like here at PSOW, so I have to report to him, and since he is as busy as lazy...
Well I usually PM the user saying that I can give a warning for that, and they take it out themselves.

35000 KB is enough. Look at all the cool sigs here (if only LollipopLolita's or Saladwood's, Anwserman is very good at it, too), that means that you do not have to ask for more.

I once had to view the PSOW forums through a 28.8K line. Those were the worst two years of my life. Don't try to convince me that the sig limits are small.

BMP is a pain to low... gah. And when the pic size is this small, you can't really tell the difference. ... JPG and GIF are the only good image type to load on the interweb....
