Is it just me or does anybody else think the PSO soundtrack totally blows? Sure it has maybe one or two kool themes but for the most part its way too mellow and doesnt go with the gameplay at all, this is a damn action RPG and needs more of a beat,it always puts me to sleep late at night, personally i think its the games bigest flaw, other than that i think the game is almost perfect.Im usually always listening to my own musik when playing PSO cuz the soundtrack is just way too mellow for my taste, anybody else agree?

yeah, the boss music is cool, but the rest sucks. The other time, I'm listening to like Incubus or Led Zeppelin. Cool stuff.

I think Vol Opt has the coolest theme in the game.

Ruins suck, I'd say Mines suck. Only good one is Forest and Episode 2 (Not Seabed though). Fighting Olga Flow is also very cool http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

I think that they fit well. The forest is tranquil and calm. The dragon sorta take you by suprise I guess. The caves really work, its all quite and weary. The mines make you feel very alone and playing alone in the dark scares me >.< Ruins make you want to kill! I like the way the seabed music addes to the creepyness!

I rather have good melodies than a creepy background music... And Seabed doesn't have good melody!

I just think that they did a good job making an ambiance(sp?) It'd be weird if a pop song was playing in seabed! http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_eek.gif

The only PSO tune I've ever liked was fighting the Dragon Boss, and the Ruins. The rest are typical Sega crap.

I like the De Rol Le one, the ending ones if I'm feeling calm (almost never) Olga flow form one, and spaceship a little.

I suppose it all depends on your musical tastes. I can't see metal or hard-rock fans being particularly excited by the PSO soundtrack (or classical music or jazz fans either, come to think of it...). Personally, I like the techno-pop sound of most videogame soundtracks, so I enjoy most of it, especially Episode II (Ep. I's Vol Opt and Falz themes are good there, but most of the rest of Ep. I's music is...well...just sort of there).

The Caves music totally stinks, of course, Forest can get grating after one's one billionth run, and it's irritatingly appropriate that the most pain-in-the-rump boss, Gol Dragon, also has the crappiest boss music. But hey, that's why they invented volume control on the TV, right?

Go into the Background Music Test, and listen to the Seabed music (the second seabed option, you know, the music that plays when theres action going on)
That music kicks major ass all the day! 00t!

*eyes twitch* What... did you say?

*eyes twitch hard* I don't beleive any other video game makes music that's even half as decent as Sega's game music *eyes twitch*

Well, the battles in Pokemon Colloseum have cool music http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

You know what background music I hate? The lobby theme! I like the lobby when any holiday theme is there.

Yes, the Cave music stinks. If you are lucky to have online, go buy music disks at Gallon's Shop (I call it Ganon's Shop). Music disks are good for if you want to hunt for rares in certain areas that have lame background music, but you can listen to your music too. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_yes.gif

The background music in the ordinary levels is just that, background. It's not supposed to stand out too much, as it is setting the ambient mood. You can't have epic battle music while wandering around breaking boxes.

And for what it's worth (not much) I think the soundtrack's good stuff. You can just bebop around the levels killin' stuff, then get excited while fighting bosses. Olga Flow's music get's me in that good butt-kicking mood.

I forgot. The absolute best music in the game is the little latin tune it plays when you find the chao in Fake in Yellow. My friend translated and said it says like "Move your feet and dance throughout the whole thing, and it was vey corny.

Ever hear of real time musik? This doesnt mean the musik has to be action packed all the time, like in some games u wander around doing nothin, the musik & sounds are all mellow but when the bad guys appear then the beat picks up till ya kill em,games such as Resident Evil, Silent hill,Max payne & devil May Cry all use this feature,i think that would be a neat touch.

The enemies pop up too randomly for that. It would require effort that st doesn't want to make!

well id rather listen to upbeat musik anyday over this horrible soundtrack.i just go to options and turn off the BGM to minimum, and i leave the sound effects at full, this way i can listen to my other musik and at the same time i can still hear the sounds of my gun shots and swords slashing.

Well, in my personal opinion this game has some of the best musics I've ever heard in a game! The both ending themes from each episode are incredibly well done! Specially the "can still see the light" song. I like very much the music from the last boss on EpI too (the last form of dark falz) wich is cry, for "IDOLA" the holy and the others are just fine...Oh except for ruins of course, I love ruins background music.

I agree with you on this. I beielve that the more orchestrated and the lyrical music of this game were excellently crafted and well done.
...but, I still love the SeaBed music the best! :Goes and rocks out to the Seabed music: http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

but it's got a weird Beat per bar....it starts of as 4 BPB..then 3...then 5 then a slow 4 :|

Um... guys? Why do you think there are two themes for each area?
