Fighting Amplam Umbra with Hunters?

The Pollux guides here seem to imply that you can fight Amplam Umbra as a Hunter. The official strategy guide doesn't say this.

So, basically, whichever doesn't finish the last boss first gets to fight Amplam Umbra?

whatever side you finish second is the side that continues on the the final boss. for example, i finished arkz first, only fought castor. when i beat pullox i had to go into the next boss battle

I have to switch sides since I beat it the second time with the Arkz.

It may or may not be clear, but I'll try to say it clearly here.

The first side you beat the end boss (Pollux or Castor) with will not progress to the Amplam Umbra that time around. When you beat the other side's end boss, you will progress to the Amplam Umbra. From then on, no matter which side you play as, you will always fight the Amplam Umbra after Pollux or Castor.
