Metal covers...

I have been searching for some time now for the name of 2 bands who have done metal covers of certain pop songs.

Well the first is an all out Metal cover, hardcore to the bone. its a metal cover of "hit me baby one more time" and its pure awesomeness. i really want to know the name of the band that do it though, cause i cant work it out, and ive only heard the song once.

The other is a Ska/Metal cover of "take on me" this is a great cover as well, but because of the mix of music i cant work out who it is. its been suggested that its Reel Big Fish, but i know for sure it aint them. it has trumptes in like other Ska covers, but has the guitar and singing of a metal band.

the answers are probably staring me right in the face, but i cant quite get them.

anyone be able to help me?

Have you checked out the "When Punk Goes..." Series? There's punk goes metal, punk goes pop and so on. Some of them are actually pretty good. I don't know if this is exactly what you want, but check out these CD's some have track listings, some dont. :s

arnt Thrice on the punk goes pop one? i seem to keep seeing it when ive been looking for their music, although i have 2/3 of their albums...

Mh.. I know this Song - in my opinion it must be from "Ten Masked Men". - They're a metal band and they only cover pop songs.

The punk version of "Take on Me" is by Reel Big Fish, if my mind serves me correct.

Oh, I found a lot of remakes of Hit Me Baby, from New Found Glory to Blink to Marylin Manson.

Yes! my firend said that it was probably by ten masked men! ill have to search them out.

as for the Reel Big Fish, hmmm, i dunno, i think ive heard their version, and it aint it. the chorus part is trumpets and all, but the verse's have proper heavy singing and guitar work. it just sounds far too heavy to be RBF :S ill have to ask when im next there who it is, if i havent worked it out by then http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

You might have a different version of the RBF cover of "Take on Me". Aaron Barrett (Guitarist) has never tried to hide his love for metal (Though he seems very happy with up-stroke barre chords) and RBF being the goofey cats they are, most likely popped out a different version and had it circulate on Kazaa or something. Of course, it could be an entirely different band.

The Rx Bandits did a cover of a song called "Holy War". Perhaps, someone could tell me what metal band created that song (I haven't a clue as to what band made that song)?

Also, you guys should check out the Fear Factory cover of the ever so catchy song "Cars". It's on FF's Obsolete album.
