Hey you guys help me out. I'm into fansubs and the like but I'm not too sure which ones are good. I've already gotten love hina, flame of recca, rurouni kenshin, intial D, and kodomo no omachi. Anyone know of any other good ones? I was thinking of Hime Chan's Ribbon but I've yet to hear about it. All I know is that it's loooooong. Help me out!

hmm.. hime-chan is pretty long indeed. I think it has more than 50 eps. I believe its one of those cute animes sort of thing (eg. chacha). Anyhoo, here's some of my personal favs (in no particular order):
-Berserk
-any ghibli stuffs
-Macross 7
-Gundam (x, 0083, 8th ms team) I hate gundam wing
-Gasaraki
-infinite ryvius
-gatekeeper
and some more titles that i cant remember at the moment. I obtain some of these series quite awhile ago, so a few might have been released commercially instead.
Hope this helps http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_smile.gif

Hime chan no ribbon rocks! It is shojo(girls anime) but its alot of fun. Oh btw if you can get the fansub version that tomodachi did, they do incredible work on their fansubs.

Berserk is a definite must as well.

Gasaraki is really cool, and available in the U.S. on DVD. Is Ryvius coming out here in the U.S.? That show is pretty heavy and serious; may not be your cup of tea. Same with Legend of Galactic Heroes--my favorite series.

If you haven't seen the Kenshin OVAs yet, you absolutely must! They're far superior to the rest of Kenshin put together. Unfortunately, you might now be able to go back...

BTW, Flame of Recca is a Yuu Yuu Hakusho clone (YYH was a previous Studio Pierrot production). But YYH was better than Flame of Recca. If you like that sort of "fight of the week" genre, you might like Gensou Maden Saiyuki or Hunter X Hunter.

Cha Cha is definately cool.. Can you say, "KAWAII!!!".. hehe.. I took a Japanese class at the local college last year and my final report was a short fanfic about Cha Cha and the gang. I even had a picture of them on the cover. Sensei loved it.

Unfortunately I haven't been keeping up with fansubs too much. Downloading them is a pain and takes too long. My friend has a huge server with fansubs on it, but it is both overloaded and ALWAYS missing key episodes.

My DVD case is a nightmare. I have one of them big 300 pack holders and it's about 2/3 full, and the back page (8 discs) is reserved for "real" movies. The rest is ALL anime. DVD Express is making a fortune off me. I stopped buying most series tho in protest of the lousy 3-4 episodes per disc format. If they can fit 26 episodes of Fushigi Yuugi on 4 discs, they should be able to do it with anything.
