OMG!! My first teh rare!

its probably not a big deal, but i was just going along trying to beat caves on hard and i killed one of those sharks and it dropped a red box, i freaked out!! (lol i even ran into the living room to tell my mom, she didnt know what the hell i was talking about) I wonder what it is? It says "special weapon" ooooo...

it turned out to be a Varista...seems to do a lot of damage...but i need more ATA to use it.

a decent starter weapon, maybe equip a arm unit to raise your ATA then u could use it sooner.

I just started a RAcast a little while ago...Now, I'm not new to rares but when I found my first two rares(both addslot), I was pretty happy. Even though I used to much, much bigger stuff. Finding a rare is just a cool experience.

I remember how i felt finding my first special weapon. I had just used Estila with my mag, and there it was, a Red box. I couldnt equip it, but my friend could (We were in multi mode) It turned out to be a flowens sword. When i could finally equip it, i felt so cool! =P

But now i have many other special weps, and am moving on to hunt bigger ones (GIMME THE SOUL BANISHY DELBITER!)

My first rare was an add slot and weapon was a varista. I was soooo excited too. You're like the spitting image of the old me *sniff* I'm so pround! *huggles*

Usually it's fairly close to the boss room, within 4-5 chambers.

u can check under maps in PSOW and find where those pillars are. there usually always a different variation.
congrats on that varista find. u should cherish the moment...

Quick note: In Ep1, the Pillars (which are the locks to the Ruins) are always located in the 2nd part of the stage. IE Forest 2, Caves 2, Mines 2. You gotta activate them in each difficulty if you want to get to the Ruins.

Heh, if you think Varista is cool...wait until you get in Vhard and Ultimate. Amazing rares all over the place.

Most people's first rare is either Varista, DB's Saber, Flowen's Sword, or Club of Laconium...Those are common "first rares".

My first rare was a DELSABER'S RIGHT ARM, actually. Got in my very first run through Ruins on normal. Nifty, eh?

But I don't do all the missions until Hard, so it stayed in my bank for a while. I finally get that fruity Newman to turn it into a DELSABER'S BUSTER and take it into the Ruins to rock and roll with the Delsaber's, give them a taste of their own medicine so to speak.

So I'm hacking up a Delsaber, running around it, and commenting to a friend, "Man, this sword looks bad-ass with my cute li'l RAmarl; but I read somewhere that these guys also drop their left hands to make a shield that combos with this thi-"

I stopped speaking then, because the Delsaber I just killed dropped a red box, and yes it was the Left Hand. (No, I'm not exaggerating here!)

That combo let my RAmarl play HUmar most of the way through Very Hard and into the first stages of Ultimate. Nowadays, it's my HUnewearl that uses the Delsaber's equipment, but I still look at that buster and smile every time I think about that first rare...

By the way, don't go back and try to find a Delsaber's Right Hand like I did in Normal. odds are 1/5000-odd against; I just got lucky.

My first rare was a Flowen's Sword (replica) it then took me a while to get Varista (got my first one in very hard area box) and DB saber (forgot where).

very first Rare i got was a DBs Saber on DVv1...DCv2 it was a red handgun at lv 115 i think...the only rare i ever got on that game...

first on xbox...no clue but i remember i got my first legit stag and i was like HELL YEAH then the next four enemes i killed all like dropped another one ... grumble
