what does evade and defence do?

I though evade was for blocking and defence for amount of damage u take when u r hit. Is this right?

It does work like that basically. There are some variables, but they aren't figured ut 100% yet though.

evade gives u a higher chance of blocking an attack, defence reduces the damage u receive

Do keep in mind that evading doesn't work on bosses.

and defense doesn't work on some bosses as some of them do a set amount of damage which no amount of dfp will reduce

When you get high enough EVP you can block certain attacks, such as the dragon falling on you, and Dal Ra lies tentacles.

yes... and though you can block a lot of enemy attacks, any enemies that can cause statuses like paralysis or slow can still inflict them on you even if you sucessfully blocked their attack <_<;

also raising your DEF will allow you to block easier, for example with my Hunewearl i had really bad evasion, i never used any evade materials and would not block many hits,but when i cast shifta & deband on myself it raises my DEF alot and allows me to block most hits, especially if you Jellen the enemies too.

That is because they deal 0 damage, you are not evading the attack, they just do not have enough ATP to hit you.

yep, so when they cant deal any damage it becomes an automatic guard,thats all i was trying to say,but thanks for putting in better words,im not good at wording things.

Dont forget that if you have "too much" dfp the attacks will not knock you down, and you won't have the tempoary period of invincibility when you get up. Beats have killed me that way.

The higher the DFP the less damage you take along with the amount of enemy attacks as well. With EVP it's sole purpose is for dodging attacks, the higher the EVP the more attacks will "Miss" or go right through your body when you're standing right in front of the enemy.

I hate evade, it almost never works for me. I'm getting strong enough where I can evade attacks SOMETIMES in ultimate forest with my FOnewearl(and they have the highest EVP of the forces). And a question: Is it worth making a HUcaseal for their high EVP?
