View Full Version : So how are we supposed to work Guykild anyway?

Although he has Elude... that's basically all he has.

Did ST force us not to use him; just put him there for the comps to annoy us with?

Or is there a strategy for Guykild, something never yet exposed, that can counter even the toughest of Arkz decks?

I think we can all figure out that Guykild needs low cost weapons due to the fact that he needs 2 atk points per attack and doesn't need to worry about losing EXP, but how are we gonna cope with that due to the popularity of Reiz decks and FO decks with Gi and Razonde?

Anyone got Guykild strategies they could share?

I use him quit regularly (and win too)... most people dont like him for his 2 point atk.

His bigswing can actually be an advantage sometimes. Go equip an item with bigswing special as well... you will see what I mean. (panzer faust is awesome with guykild...)

With all the guykild battle I did, I only manage to lose 2 times... against arkz or hunter

edit: btw, add a burning visit into your deck... I think you will find it useful.

Guykild is a great SC.

Primarily, imo, you want to follow one of 3 types of deck structures with him:

1) Weapon / Weapon
2) Weapon / Shield
3) Weapon / Weapon / Shield

Each one has it's bonus and negatives:

1) Weapon / Weapon

This helps you avoid the nasty Heavy Rampage attacks, since you only have two items equipped. However, if you have two weapons equipped, you'll pretty much be limited to two attacks a turn, and rarely will you be able to use any Action Cards with them, due to his Big Swing ability. Suggested Equip: 2x 4pt Weapon, or 1x 5pt Weapon 1x 3pt Weapon

2) Weapon / Shield

Helps you avoid Major Rampage, but you only get one attack per turn with this setup, but you can usually afford to toss on an Action Card with it. The Shield will help keep your weapon alive, enough time to do some damage, and hopefully draw another weapon. Suggest: Depends on the type of Shield you prefer to play, if you want a high AP Shield, use a DB's Shield or Standstill Shield, and a 3pt item. Shifta Merge isn't nearly as helpful as it sounds, for only 8HP and +1AP, even though it's very useful for one of the best Guykild decks (Shifta Merge [or Genbu Shield] + Holy Ray, Brave Wind/Bullet Storm)

3) Weapon / Weapon / Shield

This deck gives you the bonus of having the shield to guard your two items, but to make this work any way effectively, you'll pretty much need two 3pt items, and one 2pt shield. Or two 1pt shields, since after putting on your 3rd Item, you're vulnerable to Heavy Rampage, might as well pray your opponent doesn't have Heavy Rampage cards ^_^ This type of deck is chancier than the Weapon / Weapon one, as it makes Heavy Rampage an option for the enemy, while you need at least a roll of 4 to attack with your two weapons... However, if the enemy doesn't have many Heavy Rampage cards, that shield (or 2) can really make a big difference in winning or losing.

All Guykild decks, imo, should have at least 1 Punch Guard, if not 2, and one or two Penetrate Guard (or Return, if you feel more comfertable with that, even though it costs more to play) Brave Wind and Bullet Storm seem neccesities, since he doesn't have high AP, and using Action Cards is chancy. It usually takes a while to win as Guykild, but in the end, it's usually worth it. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

My friend has a Guykild deck. Its so cheap that even my Rappy Revenge deck can't hold a candle to it...
