I remember when i first made my android a few years back at the bottom of my menu it says freeze confuse and damage traps X 2, then throughout the game id notice id get more, but i would never use them thinking once i use up all of them i wouldnt be able to get anymore. So i would think to myself where in the hell can i find or buy these things, i wont use them until i know for sure where i can buy or find em, so once day i used up a few and had fun confusing & freezing booma, then i would reset the game so i wouldnt loose my traps, then id restart my game and have more fun with them, its was my first time, then i woudl reset again LoL damn i was an idiot my first time playing PSO.
Also i dint know how to feed my mag,to be honest i had no idea what that stupid lil thing flying beside me was, it was until the very end of V hard mode that i fed it for the very first time.
anybody else have any experience sumtin similar to what i did, your very first time playing PSO?

Be honest how Dumb was i on a scale from 1-10 LoL

I figured out what the hell my Mag was, how to feed it, how to use items, customize the menu, do quests, unlock the Ruins and all that stuff on my own just fine.

No, what it was with me that was retarded, besides the ability to get hopeless lost anywhere I STILL possess...

I thought the butterfly in Forest 1 was going to kill me. -_-;;;

Heh, I can relate to the mag stories so easily http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif However, my big question when I first started was what the heck the colored targets on enemies meant! I never got it through my head to go on the first quest (because I thought it would be too hard for me to try without leveling) so I was down there in the forest until about level 5 just figuring out why I couldn't hit some enemies and then why I could only hit them once, pause, and then once more again. Of course, if I had just gone on the quest all of that would have been cleared up within the first five minutes of playing http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Of course, I've been playing offline since I joined PSOW. One of my main problems was unlocking the next area. Everyone's like saying Caves, Mines, and Ruins. I beat forest 1, yay... my HUnewearl lvl 8 (slaughted me at lvl 3 ;_;)!

Then I go back and I see only forest still there. Where is the next area...?! I did forest for a couple of weeks (finished the quests for the forest until I found out, oh, the principal!)

My god, I felt so fricking stupid.

I didnt figure out i could combo attacks until about a month after i had the DC version.. i let my friend play and he did it. At first we could only get 2, then we found out there was 3 and we were totally freaked and hooked after that. I remember doing that quest with elenor, i finally figured out what my mag was... then she was all 'your mag is hungry' and im like typing out the text 'HOW DO I FEED THE MAG?'.... lol jeeze

the dumbest thing i did was turn off the cube after playing four hours because i didn't know how the system of saving worked not wanting save over my brother's character... i knew about the mag and targets after doing the quests, but didn't realize that they were just variations of the maps.

... I too thought that the NPC's were interactive...

But I did figure out the game pretty quickly, but those dang combos had me going for awhile.

I'll just say my first online experience in version 1 of DC: I was about lv 25, a HUmar. When I got to the lobby, the first thing I did was joining an opened team. I was wandering around Pioneer 2, greeting the players. There was this one player, a HUmar with blue spiky hair named NO FEAR 20 and he casted Rabarta on me then I died. And he repeated killing me with Rabarta while I was trying to run and dodge away from the Medical Center away from him where I got recovered from the killing. It was hopeless. I was wondering, how did he do that on Pioneer 2...? I was puzzled, I knew nothing about the cheating and hackings at this time till a little later after experiencing.

I did the same thing, except I only did the forest twice. I thought that my game was broken or something until a friend told me to talk to the principal...I felt pretty stupid.

Heh, I proceded to majorly fuck over my character's Mag stats. HUmar had a fugly Varaha with godawful stats of like 17/35/13/34...*shudder* Then I made a nice, Gold Rati.

I also frettered over PBs. I was SO obessesed about trading Mags around, getting the EXACT PBs for every character...finally, I just gave up, and made new, much better Mags. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif Other than my FOnewm's, his Mag was actually pretty well made. In fact, his is thie ONLY Mag that has been around since the begining...

I wasn't as hopeless as you'd expect, I had played the PSODC demo a bit, and more or less knew what to do.

Man, that sucks. I kinda left my HUnewearl out in the field... came back, red screen. ;_; I had 1000 meseta too... (pretty good for normal).

I never had a prob like that ever really...I figured out all the stuff quickly because i hated caves and so i did the quests and couldn't get online till i hit Vhard within the first week so...yeah...no probs on there...

however i've had a friend get so freaked over Hildebear he shut his game off after he saw one the first time without saving

i met someone with several lvl 100+ chars that didn't know how to do combos...

As for my stupidity...well first time i used GS when i got it..i was like oooh cool Stat modding, mod mod mod...8000+ damage on an enemy. went online and did the same thing ran into mines took a swing, missed and got killed in one hit...in normal mines, with a lvl 100 char...i looked and i had -13999 statsi totally freaked out and ended up that i CKed myself..grrr

I remember my first time playing PSO with my FOmar. I took the first quest because I thought that was how one played through the whole game. So I go to Ragol on the edge of my seat waiting for some huge fight, and a Booma appears. I was puzzeled at this solo enemy, slowly trodding towards me and my first scythe-wielding comrade not doing anything. So I press B and a small fireball hits the booma. Kireek finishes him and takes the next one with 86 damage. We move on, and feeling more confident I run straight up to the next Booma and swing - 3 damage?! Then POW! The Booma kills me in one hit. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif During the next attempt I successfully got killed by a Savage Wolf, and than I was at 1HP demanding that kireek kill some monsters so I could get some monomate. Hehe, good times http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

I remember thinking that maybe you could Tek the rare weapons the same way you can Tek for better percentages, and I spent something close to half an hour and I don't know how much Meseta trying to turn a DB'S SABER into SOMETHING.

ANYTHING.

BUT ANOTHER FREAKIN' DB'S SABER.

another time was when i thought i was geting tired of the game and decided to give my old items to my new one, but when i put all the items on the floor to give to my character, i forgot i put some items also in another room, so when i quite i lost all of those items.

I also used to try to "conserve" my traps on my HUcast. Silly me.

My friend went through forest a few times without realizing you could do combos. My HUcast leveled his mag to 21 in mind before I understood why it was bad. My other friend didn't know that items disappeared if you dropped enough, so he thought a useless Pioneer 2 mpc had picked up his item.

It was my first time playing PSO, and my friends were helping me train. I died a lot, since i was still a really low lvl, but when we finally beat the dragon I was so happy i started to do a "victory dance" by running around in circles underneath the dragon as it fell..

*SQUISH*

My friends sure got a good laugh out of that one...

The thing that confused me at first was slots. Great, an elf legs! Wtf is it?
I got the combo thing fairly quickly. Then, it was unlocking caves, as mentioned before.
The thing that confounds me after a year of playing is:
Why don't people use J/Z first thing when enemies spawn? And androids, lay a freeze trap, plz!
Overall, tho, PSO has been fun fun fun!

My friend was laughing his butt off when I got killed by 'squish' too. I was disappointed too, because I only like 5 exp points to gain to the next lvl.

Ah, remember the times when you first went to Hard mode against Dark Falz. Oh man, we were rejoicing that we beat his butt after his 2nd form (usually 1 say those dumb little spiky fire hydrants is his first form, 2nd is that it riding on the three worm dragon heads, and 3rd being that buddha or indian looking thingie and well... 4th form (he surprised the living beejesus out of us) We did that battle over and over again until we beat him (when Falz captured my friend he yelled out in the room and said 'YOUR GOING DOWN WITH ME B!TCH' and so it happened leaving me with the experience points.

http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif Yaaaay! I'm not the only one but i read the manual first (i always do) when i started i found the hunter's guild (started there) and picked the first quest (well that was my second go i said my cousin could create his character before i played it like crazy) so i started noticed my MAG and when i went into my item menu later to learn barta i saw equip, items and mag etc and even though i had read the manual (skimmed) i wasn't entirely sure what to do so i gave it my useless monomates (i was good at standing still foieing everything i am a Fomar) and after it evolved i realised what the flying thing was also it took me ten minutes to find the teleporter and i had read that at the end of a level you fought a boss and at the end of forest 1 i was ansxious and then i didn't fight it in the end i was level 12-20 when i killed the dragon http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif i laugh at myself considering the caves were still hard.http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif

The first time i played was wiv my m8s and they hadnt played b4 either and we were all running round pioneer 2 for ages trying to find where 2 go. it took 10 minutes to figure out we all had to go in the teleporter at the same time. ALso once we were there we had chosen to do episode 2 not knowing it would b harder. lol every 5 mins some 1 died. it was the most fun ever on PSO!

I don't meen to sound like a smart-ass but none of this happened to me because...................I read the instructions, that mystical paper book that explains all about the game controls and features. That said I did think that the first time I found a railgun I thought it was going to be a railgun (Quake style) as for everything else I was fine with.
