Yes, for GC (I am almost 100% sure that XBox is behind in C-Mode). S-Ranks are from Online Challenge Mode (offline C-Mode gives you toy weapons).

The thing i dont like about S-Ranks are the way they look, just like the regular weapons you first start with in the game, even tho they are very superior in stats and special attacks thats still not enough to convice me to use one, it has to look hot or i dont want it.
And yes i would imagine you are able to choose which weapon you earn becuz if not that would be such a waste of time, waste 7 hours when you wanted a S-Rank sword & get an S-Rank Rod.

Yes, that is the only way to get S-Ranks except for trading/being given them.

There is no difficulty in C-Mode. It is just normal enemies, with the areas looking like Ultimate.

You need 7 or less hours for Episode 1 S-Ranks, and 5 or Less hours total for Episode 2 S-Ranks. And note that to get S-Ranks, you must be ONLINe (offline as I think was said above, gives toy weapons).

Mario twin was made by the only nice Hayato I ever met online. I met the guy around the first or second week the game was released in the US. His real name is Mario, and he went through challenge to get a twin. It isn't really a funny name at all, just his own name in front of the weapon, like almost everybody does.

My wife and I made a few S ranks with funny names, the CO Cane, Retarded Twin, and the Ugly Shot among the many other normally named ones.
