Ok, so I recently bought a dreamcast and remember a friend of mine used to play PSO heavily. Having watched him many a time, it always looked fun. Well, now I have my dc and luckily it came with a broadband adapter. So my question, finally - Is the DC version of PSO still going on? Does the dc version connect to the same servers as the other releases? If so, is there anything specific I should know before I buy a sealed copy from ebay? Thanks in advance, I'm really hoping I'll get to play. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Thanks in advance

I seem to remember them closing the DC servers.

unless you can/intend to play on jp or eu servers, us dc servers are down since oct. last year

ah.. any chance of the us version of the game being able to play on the eu servers? or would I have to import an eu version? As otherwise though, how is everyone else playing now? I know there's a version available for xbox live, although I'm leary of trying that one as it would involve re-activating my live account and putting my old drive back into the xbox since microsoft is now apparently scanning drives with the latest versions of Live.

Your best bet is to switch to either Gamecube or XBox version. DC is dead in the States, and most likely not going too strong anywhere else (due to its availiblility on newer systems).

nowadays, dreamcast is only good for its easy multicode possibilities and other greyware-related issues. *cough cough*

besides that, pso v1 is fun - even offline. dont bother with v2, it eats too much time since the droprates are horrible.

if you wanna play online, get an european version running on your cast. but dont expect much, i guess there are around a handful people left there.
good thing is, its free of any HL charges (EU both v1 and v2).

if you really want to dive into the pso world, consider to buy a cube (or if you want, an xbox) and prepare yourself to shell out monthly money via credit card.

anyway, have fun

^ Yep it's true. Anyway I went online last September and there were two people on the entire EU servers....two people and they were in a passworded game http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif

well right on then.. i've got both the cube and xbox.. but due to my xbox being modded, i'll prolly pick up the gamecube version.. although that's now going to mean getting a broadband adapter for the cube as well.. heheh
thanks for the info guys.. much appreciated http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif
