5 - Resist/All
6 - Theif/Legs+
7 - Monomate

What's 1/512 combined with 1/208, the odds on getting a rare lilly (spelled just to spite you, Ian) combined with its drop?

Hmm... whatever it is, it's still better odds than any other psycho wand drop. *shrug* If you've GOTTA have it, that'd be the way to go I suppose. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Have a lucky drop, and may all your pipes have Mil Lilies!

Well, combining 1/512 with 1/208 would be the chance of getting a Psycho Wand per Ob. Multiply that by 9 for per pipe. Anyway, it's not really worth trying to combine the rare enemy chance with the drop chance.

Best of luck, Eihwaz.
May you have the luck of my brother and his Heaven Punisher.

Wazzy knows about my Psycho Wand hunt I beleive... haven't gotten very far into it, only about 4 Lilies (Since Lilies don't like to appear while I do full runs, and since I don't want to kill my GC, I've stopped piping http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_disapprove.gif )

It took me only 36 Mils, but I have a freind it only took 13. So, you never know.

Being patient is the key to finding any good rare.....

Oh, don't feel bad if it takes a long time. I'm currently 0 for 137 Pals for muy Orotiagtio http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

Mil Lily = Pretty.
Mil Lily also = Hateful.

I've been stiffed by as many Millies on REDRIA as I've gotten Demo Comets from.

I got stiffed by a Nar Lily in VHard WHITILL Temple once which made me happy because the drop from it sucked.

I've been stiffed by an ORAN Temple Mil, and gotten Aura once from one.

I've been stiffed by an ORAN Caves Mil, which is just insulting. Sense Plate sucks ass. I've also gotten it, and I probably preferred being stiffed.

I was sadly not stiffed by the SKYLY Temple Mil.

Been stiffed by a Temple Mil on... PINKAL, I think it was.

So far, I've seen a random PURPLENUM Milly in a TTF online. Stiffed, of course. Doesn't bug me any. XP Don't really want a Psycho Wand. It looks cool, I suppose, but the effects don't really do anything for me. *shrug*

Yes, I do speak for myself, unlike most people, I do not find traps a huge annoyance. Carry a few trap visions and your Rafoie, sheesh. Are you still worrying about traps at L141? If you're a Force, sure, but Forces can't use it. And I take the Force comment back, Zero doesn't even worry about them. XP

It would be useful for Falz with the ELT it has. That's... About it.

And ever hear of Anti, Sol Atomizers, Antiparalysis or wiggling?

And I laugh at thee, Wazzy. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Do I need to say anything about that? Seriously though, some people find traps as annoyance and are willing to give up some DFP in order to not worry about them. You can't always make it out of the affects of a trap without harm. Besides, at lv 141, you should have plenty of DFP for most of the areas in the game, offline. Online, you got droids to handle it for you.

Nai_Calus
May 8, 2004, 08:43 PM
Piping is for the insane and the patient. Being both truly helps.

And what do you need to say about Sol Atomizers? Haven't you ever run into a Zonde trap? XP Sure, usually you're not going to get Shock from one in areas where it's going matter if you're Shocked or not. But I always have all bases covered whether I think I'll need to or not. I even carry 10 Trap Visions on all my non-droids that I never bother to use outside of the first floor of East Tower or multiple switches when I'm too lazy to remember which one is correct.

This is really a useless argument anyway, I'm never going to be convinced that traps in normal gameplay are a huge enough nuisance to bother going to any sort of effort on them, and people who think they are an actual issue will never be convinced otherwise. *shrug*

My opinion, Sense Plate is not useful.

As Ian has pointed out, after you do enough runs, you tend to know where the traps are and to him, using Trap Vision to reveal those traps for killing is best. You on the other hand, I know would rather just not have to worry about it and not carry extra items. Different people have different tastes, so you shouldn't say that something is great just because it is for you.

You make abolutely no sense. If something is good even for only one person, it means it's good, period.

Besides it is impossible to know all the traps in GDV or Seabed, I have played each area hundreds of time on/offline, and still don't know them; sure I know the ones in corridors and such, but when you are fighting 2 Morfos and 2 Zoas and that suddenly a trap takes 800 of you HP, or worse, freezes you...

If, like Ian pretends, you are really used to using Trap Vision before entering each crowded room, then maybe, but Trap Vision only reveal a few traps, not all of them; and you can only carry 10 of them.

And another good point for Sense Plate/Rico's Glasses is that a lot of monsters in GDV/Seabed deal fixed/magical damage, making high DFP all in all useless (at Lv 141 and 148, respectively, where your HP is high enough).

And Ian was mentioning the use of a FOmar, who cannot see traps anyway.

By this logic, L1304 mags, 300 Dark BKBs and Al Rappies are all good, period. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

And no, you don't learn -all- the traps, but you do figure out where they generally are and can act accordingly if you think it will be a problem.

Yeah, I can't imagine that -anyone- ever got Psycho Wand from Sinow Zele.

I mean, damn. By the time you could find maybe 1 from Zele, you could easily have several from Purplenum, or maybe from Oran, Bluefull, or Viridia.

True, but it is doable. Delbiters aren't the rarest enemy in Seabed.

Still, the vast majority of legit PWands will be coming from Purplenum Mils.

Yup, thats pretty much the reason i dropped my Pinkal FOmar and started up a FOnewm and made him Purplenum. So reasonably soon i'll be joining you in your Psycho Wand hunt.

I'm slightly dubious as to whether or not i'll get mine though. The last rare i went searching for was my Agito (1975). I used my Pinkal FO and did repeated Rappy quest runs with occasional sprinklings of piping throw in for good measure, but it took me 20 rappies to get it...

If that luck continues then by my calculations it will take me 195 Mil's to get my Psycho Wand... http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif
