It was kind of stupid that he shot himself. But we all do stupid sh!t don't we. Give the guy a break, I'm sure this is his biggest *uck-up he's had in a long time. I know I've done stupid things before *either accidentally or on purpose*.

At least he didn't do something really stupid...ummm...say like something along the lines of what that idiot in the movie "Out of Sight" did when he was climbing the stairs and he slipped but his gun was a little to close to his face and he had his finger on the trigger and then boom...he blew a chunk of his head off. If we were present, probobly not. Seeing someone get shot, either though malice or stupidity, is not a pretty sight. I used to work in a bad neighborhood and it wan't unheard of for there to be the occasional shooting during buisness hours. ITs not funny.

BUT, as we are removed from this situation, it is possible to see the inherent slapstick humor in the situation. I mean, the guy... a DEA agent, no less... is teaching a gun safety course. And he manages to shoot himself in the leg right in the middle of teaching... if it was on tv, most people would find it humorous.

Sure that guy was stupid as hell, but he's not the only guy who forgot to check if the gun was loaded. He must have had his reasons for shooting, like, in his ignorance, trusted the people in charge of the guns in the show or whatever.
