I decided early yesterday morning, 5/5/04 that I would do some OFFLINE(as always) Ultimate Caves with my REDRIA RAmar.
Well REDRIA Ult Caves you say?
I was pretty much after one thing from one enemy.
I had received an ASUKA on a prior regular run through.
This time I was going for a MIL LILLY from the Waterfall Tears quest for a DEMOLITION COMET.
I read about the number of Ob Lillies max per room in a PSOW General forum topic (Waterfall Tears 9, from 5 and 4 respectively between two rooms).
Another one suggested something that sounded like a no-brainer: Saying "I like (insert rare enemy name here)!" upon piping for said enemies and items.
Pressing the buttons to say "I like MIL LILLY." was taking awhile. I said it upon starting the quest, once in Caves 1, and before starting to pipe the OB's in Caves 2. I get myself to the room with 5 OB's in Caves 2 and decide to set it as a shortcut to my "UP" key. But change it to an Exclamation point rather than a period.
I proceed to pipe and say it upon entering and leaving the pipes, and when in the caves 2 room before they respawn after the pipe throws me down into the area.
After three pipes, Voila!
MIL LILLY.
I brought enough dark resistance thanks to DEVIL/Resists, and a handful of scapes, full antiparalysis and sol atomizers. Also brought an Arrest Shotgun-type weapon to attack all at once for fear of the unexpected/unplanned death upon my char by way of backstabbing megid.
Shoot the Obs and Mil with it, the obs fall fast of course. The MIL LILLY lags behind. He falls soon enough and I was too glad to actually see and kill this enemy that I did not see how much EXP it gave-an afterthought of "How much EXP did it give me?"- The MIL LILLY drops his RED BOX.
I pick it up and of course I know what it (? SPECIAL WEAPON) is. That is a given unless it said Photon Drop. The completely unexpected was that it had these % stats 0/25/0/5/25 untekked, as in Native/A. Beast/Machine/Dark/Hit of course.
I run up to the Tekker and get it to add another 10% to it by way of denial of his assumptions. When it got to the 0/35/0/15/35 stat. I kept it, 35% HIT, and 85% overall. This weapon is nice. Very nice.
After owning PSO GC since the day it has come out and only playing offline, this was the best rare with %'s I have come across. This weapon freaking "pwns" no doubt about it.
I've gotten other rares but they are not that great in terms of %(none on hit) or usefulness. 2 ELYSIONs but still those aren't much to brag about. ASUKA 20% Machine, not bad but not great either.
Regardless, coincidence or not this is what I did and what the result was. Not the greatest of accomplishments or finds ever (check out the Double Cannon creating topic http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif ) and the specifics in terms of beat time about between 832 and 836 from the time I found it to tekked %. I forgot the beat time exactly but remember it was somewhere in there. Knew that after I tekked it, the time was 836. And about 4:30 a.m. PST.
Give it a try you never know.
