Hmm is this just one of the designs. I heard Nintendo sent their ideas to famous companies like Capcom, Namco, and others to see what their design idea was.

Yeah, USA Today leaked the info. If that's in any way similar to the finalized design, I'm liking the four-button setup.

Heh I saw this in another forum as well.
The design is nice... though I don't really like the retangular shape.

Its more impressive than most have imagine I guess.
They've brought back the old SNES control styles.

The interesting thing is that the Nintendo DS as analysts predict will sell about 100 bucks lower than the PSP which is 250 bucks.

The big thing with DS is the compatibility with GBA games which is a big plus. As much this is not a sucessor to game boy, it might play a role in Nintendo's control for the portable gaming market.

It has also been noted that over 100 developers (EA, Square-Enix, Sega, Capcom, Konami, HAL, Atari, THQ, Ubisoft, Namco, Activision and ofcourse Nintendo. etc. ) have signed onto Nintendo's DS bandwagon to develop games for the new DS.

"Nintendo DS is going to push hand-held technology to uncharted territories," says Yves Blehaut, senior vice president of Atari. "It's going to energize both developers and consumers with amazing new game mechanics and new game design. Once more, Nintendo leads the way with something unexpected and totally innovative."

Square-Enix's Michihiro Sasaki stated:
"We still don't know what Sony are trying to achieve with this product - that's the problem. Before we prepare anything, we'd like to know more about the PSP business model."

Konami's Kazumi Kitakami added:
"It would have been better if PSP were just a game machine. They [Sony] are foolish to try and build a market for watching movies any time, any place. Watching movies requires concentration. Also we fear the Japanese release date may also be delayed."
