Racasts.

Is it just Uncle, or is it EXTREMELY hard to draw racasts without them looking like crap? http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_disapprove.gif When he goes off to draw one, it either looks great or it looks like a steaming pile of fecal matter.

yeah, realm is good at doing mecha. he is the master.

and whoever did that pic i use for my avatar. it rocks. was that realm too?

and batou is dam good, he drew me a RAcast, even if it did look a little more like a RA/ HU cross breed.

It's not just you, they ARE difficult.

But, I think I know why they're so hard to do well. They're the only class who isn't really organic looking all over. HUcast is more of that synthetic muscle, and HUcaseal is only an oddity where her feet and calves are concerned. (the thinner varieties of those have hooves, not feet)

The same people who have trouble with the RAcast will probably not like Transformers, or some of the Gundams to draw. They're a lot of boxy shapes which must be gotten *precicely right* to look good. (there's your 2 extremes)

-Perspective. (vanishing points and all that jazz) it's another thing that provides a challenge but is usually only found where it's snappier to do: backgrounds. But good RAcast drawing requires it as well, being as they've got the square thing goin' on.

However, the flip-side is, the people who do a lot of mecha-art, regardless of PSO standing (airplanes, cars, giant-robot variety) will automaticaly be better at RAcasts.

It's all in what you're used to, and chances are, if you've been doing mostly humans and nature scenes (monsters included) then RAcasts will provide a challengeing subject for you to draw. But, just because they're difficult, doesn't mean everyone shouldn't try--there's not enuff cool RAcast art to go around!
