I don't really know what defines an anime nerd. I'm into it. I like watching it more than most people. I watch domestic stuff. I've watched Naruto up to episode 70 something, I don't know if that makes me a nerd. I think I need to know alot more than I know.

I sorta grew out of anime and I never reached the nerd level.

I enjoy anime, and I am one of those who stands by the more oddballish animes as my favorites. Instead of DBZ, i've got 'Serial Experiments: Lain' thank you very much. I'm also a huge fan of FLCL, Trigun, and Cowboy Bebop. Now mind you, I was watching these before they were aired on american TV, so if you tell me i'm just another 'wannabe Otaku', shove it. I'm not a 'nerd' even though I think Cosplay is quite the novel idea. Hell, i've even cosplayed PSO before. But I don't go so far as others. And trust me, there are limits even I won't go past.

I am a Cartoon Nerd.....I pretty much watch any kind of cartoons that are funny or exciting {i.e. family guy, teen titans}.

But anime is definitly one of my favorite types of cartoon. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif

Yeah.
Even now, i could tell you every beast wars character and every spiderman enemy... Yet i only know two characters from Inu Yasha (sp?).

Anime bored me, but optimus primal will exist forever in my heart http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

Guess i must be becoming a big Anime nerd, seeing as ive moved on from watching Cartoon Network and Sci-Fi Channel Anime to buying DVD's, importing DVD's and finally getting Fan-Subs off the net (Full Metal Alchemist - Great Series). Im also one of those people who will buy the Manga, some of the random figures/statues/model kits and of late the OST. And im still debating if i should get that damn Trigun wallscroll or not.

Cosplayers still scare me though.

importing DVD's

This would seem to be the point of no return...

Yeh, me too. Anime Cons of any sort scare me too.

I watch what adult swim airs, but I've never bought anything thats anime related (Those FLCL dvds are tempting me though). I don't really like watching anime with other people, sorta bugs me. I've got around 40 episodes of various animes on my computer though. Meh.

Yes, all the time http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Nah, only joking. I just have some irrational fear of people in costume. I hid behind a pile of dustbins when the Chipmonks approached me and my friends in Disney Land http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif Very, very sad of me.

No, I consider myself an admirer, not a nerd. I anylize anime like I would a book, but with artistic value in mind as well. I like Fushigi Yuugi, Inu Yasha (good Lord the english dub sucks!), Clamp X series, Berserk, Vampire Princess Miyu (the english dub is even worse!!!) and series of the sort. Bebop was great, Candidate for Goddess was engrossing and earlier I have been a great fan of the different Gundam series (not SD).

Regardless, I occupy my usual life with music, art, and my education. Anime is on the side. Even with all the series I have watched to the end, my friend still calls me a hippie because I never turn on my television due to my hatred of biased media, thoughtless advertisements, proof of a constant cultural degredation, and shows pertaining the the previous or with no point. To avoid this becoming a rant - Yes, I love anime for its artistic and storytelling value. Even my sig is of two pictures from Fushigi Yuugi and the quote of Miyu from the Vampire Princess Miyu ^_^
