My array of weapons would be
1 Duel edged pole arm down the center of my back
2 spears
and
2 scythes going diagonally along my back
and two short swords at my sides

even if it is alot of weapons and sure as hell heavy that arrangement is designed for complete brute force and destruction
I have yet to use real weapons with that arrangment but even with wooden weapons I am still good.

my back starts to hurt after a while though

That looks a little ungainly, really...

I mean, it looks neat, but seems rather heavy and restrictive for hand-to-hand combat.

Personally, I'd much sooner take a simple handgun of some variety.

Why?

It's more immediately effective, and sufficiently intimidating.

Here's something to consider-- My best friend's father, who is the owner of a Shotokan Dojo, and a 6th degree black belt; a man whose hands are registered weapons, whence upon determining that his family was threatened, went into his home, ignored a set of katanas, and came back to the threatener with a gun.

Simply put, you might be able to do more damage with a good sword or knife, but a bullet will put someone down immediately, and from a distance, at that. There are reasons why wars are now fought with projectiles instead of spears.

And Meira, I'm assuming that these fictional WOCs are for us if we happened to be wild ninjas and whatnot. Of course nobody's going to have a real magical sword or whatever, but if they were some hero in a fantasy world, it would rock.

There is actually research going on to develop these things, for those of you who think they're fictional. If you look around enough, you can find some military documents and whatnot. Supposedly, the technology to create a PB already exists (more or a less a particle accelerator with an opening), but it would have to be in close proximity to its own power plant.

I think there's even a rumor that some Russians created a working prototype to be used for shooting down missiles and aircraft. Doesn't seem to have much credibility, though.
