Here, JP site.
http://psotools.com/sectionid.shtml

Actually, even better, same site in English.
http://psotools.com/index.en.shtml

If anyone knows Javascript and wants to decompile this and make a separate program, the source is here.
http://psotools.com/sectionid-compact.txt

Definitely be helpful, and seems from what I can tell of the code that the Section ID determination is much simpler.

Hmm section ID seems to be determined by
Character class
The first character in your name and the last character in your name

Excellent find, Arislan.
Thumbs up!

I'm actually lucky in that a RAcast named <D@rK-SuN> has the EXACT same section ID as before, which is REDRIA.
It's good, because I couldn't imagine myself with any other section ID.

Because of these changes, however, my dominant section ID is REDRIA instead of having 4 diferent ones like before (counting PSOGC only; PSOX, PSOPC and PSODC don't count since I had tons in them).
Ayanami HUnewearl is now REDRIA instead of Purplenum, BackLash HUcast is now also REDRIA instead of Greenill and Raikard FOmar is Greenill instead of Skyly.
Good changes though, with the addition of having the class affecting it, now same names might not have same results except by fluke.

Man, all of my characters would have better IDs except for Pride L., Edward and Ellis.

Awsome. My main character will still be Skyly, even with this new method of calculating ID's. Seems like she really is meant to be Skyly.

:S i spent ages working on how to involve the name Zane with a HUmar and get a Yellowboze ID. this really messed me up, but in the end it came down to using ZANEATRON. Im now more prepared to get the game, cause i wanted my Yellow ID on my main char. the new thing is weird though, at first I thought caps didnt make a difference, but i later found out that did. gah!

so how does it work out? does it just add the length - 1 then add the number of what class you are?
