It truely is a sad day for those of us old enough to remember his presidency. And as well, for those of us old enough to remember his movies.

We will always remember him as the man with the jellybeans, and as one of the best presidents of the 20th century.

Sadly, I think his family is happy. I am not totally sure, but I think he and they were suffering.

Like someone said earlier, a great President.

Ronald Reagan...93

Reagan, suffering from Alzheimer's disease for over ten years, is finally at peace.

Gladly, he lived a happy long life. I'm sure he's had no regrets.

As one of the best Presidents of our time...he will truely be missed.

He was probably one of the very few Presidents I actually admired.

May he rest in peace.....

If I was 93 and I have done the kinda things he has done, I think I'd die pretty happily. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

He lived a full life. May he find peace in whatever comes after death.

I heard it may not have been from the Alzheimer's disease. Neumonia(sp) or Ammonia... Most likely the former.

But yeah, I think it is bad and good that he went. I was alive for a bit of his presidency. Don't remember any of it. I heard he did great things and was a great man.

And the reason I say it's bad is because he's dead, of course. The good is that he's no longer suffering.

WW2, ended the Korean War, SEATO, Interstates, prosperity, and probably more because I don't know that much about him.

TR was great too, so were(are) the Bushes. Bet you disagree!

He did.

I said Eisenhower ended Korea. He sure was a good leader during WW2 though, even though he wasnt President at the time.

That's true. BTW, when I said recent, I meant the last 40 years.

Ok, never heard of looking at it that way. Whatever.

Sadly, I was very young when Regan was in his presidency, and at the elementary age with no interest or knowledge in politics. I state no opinion because I am unfamiliar with his actions and did not experience them as I now pay attention to Bush. I do respect him though, like anyone who passes on. In those last moments, conscious or not, I think it must require astounding courage to face death. Rest in peace, my friend.

His is the kind of death that should be celebrated. He lived very long and productively, and pulled off great works for people everywhere. Now he's completed it. Be thankful that he got his chance.

It's very sad. I never cared about politics until 10 years after he left office so it was not possible for me to realize how much he was loved until now. It does seem now like he was the last gentleman we had as president. All politics has become these days is trash talking and lies.

Oooh, I saw Arnold!

Blackrose is right.

My nephew(who's 14 mind you) kept making the comment of who cares and so what, why make a big deal, etc.

Well, it's like this. Not every person's life generates acts of greatness for countless people. When such a life burns, and eventually goes out, the loss of it's light is missed, but the light it gave to those who needed it will not be forgotten.

That is the cause for celebration, and the cause of such mourning. Celebration of the light that was given in it's time, and mourning of it's loss to the world.

The service went very well this evening, and it was great hearing from his children and the Pastor.

I think it's kinda funny how far people are taking it. Here's a story. My aunt is good friends with one of this year's congressional candidates over in nebraska. So she's always kind of in battle with the incumbent guy. Anyway, recently he said something wrong or contradictory and she nailed him on it. A staff member from his office calls her later in the evening, saying only "I can't believe you're saying this when RONALD REAGAN IS IN HIS COFFIN!!!" Completely serious.

LMAO!

I dunno. People are making such a huge deal out of this, I think more than should be made. Of course, I'm sure it's a little bit of the current administration's doing... more reagan specials mean fewer iraqi prison cruelty specials.

Rest his soul and be done with it, I say.
