Holy. Fucking. Shit.
Anwserman got pulled over tonight for being a reckless driver... ran a stop sign (hey, I was turning onto the highway) and sped through the parking lot of Hardees.

And got a VERBAL WARNING. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif I'm so happy, I would have thought I would have gotten a ticket.

He was like, "So whats the reason you ran the stop sign and sped through the parking lot?"
I replied, "Um, there isn't an excuse for such driving so I'm not going to give one, other then I wanted to see if somebody I knew was at the video store and that I turned in here to head home. Though I'm wearing my seatbelt."

I just paid a ticket today for one I got a month ago.

Going 71 in a 55, not even that bad -_-

Where I live, I either:
Know where the cops are on the surface streets.
Go 5 miles an hour slower than the out-of-state retard who has to go 85 in a 60 zone. Guess who the cops go after. Yeah, the faster out of-state-person. XP
If I'm the fastest on the road for some reason, keep it to 10mph over the speed limit.

It's safer to keep it at 7 over the limit. The radar guns that police use have a 7 mph give on them. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

I cops here usually give you a few miles so I try to keep at 4 mph above the speed limit.

I like to think cops and me have a mutual undrestanding that even though I am speeding like a crazy mofo, I'm going to be safe about it, and nobody is in danger of getting hurt due to it.

One time I was going 110 down the highway swirving all over the place around cars (Needed to get somewhere on time), and a cop saw me, he just drove up and flashed his light. I slowed down, he continued to drive off. Mutual understanding. And many times on local streets (All of them have 35 MPH speed limits), I normally go 55, and I pass cops all the time, but they just don't seem to care.

Whee for me.

I hate driving with my friend, he insists on running just about every red light we see... We ran 5 lastnight!

I dunno about your area, but around here, they'd go after YOU. Why? Because you're easier to catch.

Example: A guy I work with, once got a ticket, after pulling into his driveway, while two guys who just peeled out, racing with eachother got off scott-free. The ticket he recieved, was in fact, for the traffic violation the other two were commiting.

Now, I don't know if you're aware of how a Jeep accellerates in contrast to a Honda that's been tweaked for racing, but my buddy says it takes him 4 blocks to accellerate to 60 on the highway. He once took the spare tire off of his Jeep, and the top speed got bumped up five miles an hour to 75.

When, in confusion, my buddy asked the officer why he pulled HIM over, when he just casually drove through the intersection, and pulled into his driveway a half a block later, the officer told him, "You're easier to catch."

Needless to say, he contested the ticket, and won.

Personally, I got pulled over last year for doing 42 in a 40 mile an hour zone, that was also, evidently, an unmarked School zone. I'm not exactly sure how I was supposed to know that it was a School zone, as there were no signs indicating such, nor was there any striping on the road to indicate such. In the 25 or so times I've driven through that area since then, I have noticed that there's a school there 2 or 3 times. I have observed that even if you are watching for it, even if you know where to expect to see it, there is a good chance that you will not notice it there. The only thing that seems to differenciate it from the surrounding buildings is the presence of a single playground structure, that really isn't very big.

Quite annoying.

I've gotten "The look" a few times.

Man, that freaks me out!

Then, I swear to myself that I won't speed again, but, you know...

I usually go the speed limit or a little above, I'm in no hurry.

Been there, done that. I once was doing 120 on a highway by me that's infested with cops. I saw someone creeping up me ass, and turned off my exit. The guy that was creeping kept going. It was a state cop. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

It will all catch up to you eventually. Some of you guys just got lucky that a nice pig pulled you over. A "mutual understanding" will only go so far when a cop has a quota he has to meet for the day.

Not trying to be pessimistic here but that's just the reality of the situation. If you're going 110 on the freeway and the speed limit is 70 there's most likely a chance you are going to get a ticket. You just got extremely lucky.

Speed limit was 60 http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

But yeah, I did get very lucky. I just happen to get lucky a lot, so that's why I personally like to look at it as a "mutual understanding."

If a cop saw someone going at speeds over 100 mph and the limit was 60......don't you think he'd pull the speed demon over?! http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_confused.gif

I'm confused......I thought cops were always the up-tight moody and very determined people that they seemed to be?!

I must have been mistaken somewhere along the lines.

All I know is if I did that around where I live.......I'd be pulled over faster than you could say: "Pull the *uck over". http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif
