I've corrupted a few times, the first at level 32, the second time at level 132, and the third time at level 176. Each time after corruption, I almost gave up on the game completely. But then I gathered up my injured pride (do people really have pride over video game characters?), and came back to it within a matter of days. I haven't corrupted in well over a year now, and was able to get my most recent character up to 200, which was nice, because each time I was able to surpass the previous character in level. Just stick with it, I suppose.

Corruption sucks. I corrupted myself once. -_- Pressed start when disconnected while saving in server select.

I was 130 and had hunted down 8 eggs in 60 hours through the easter week. I stopped playing completely.

After a while I started again. And raised my char up to level 200! http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif Before TTF. And then it got boring again. -_- And then I realized I never found anything particular rare. I only had Summit Moon and Lafuteria. -_-

But it is PSO and it is fun. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

BTW, backup you memcard. Use GCS with PSOLoader. I do. And original memcards brake down less often. =) Mine have never been corrupted for over 3000h PSO. Ecept that time I did it myself. -_-

I never have corruption so I dont know, but I can imagine how it feels losing a Lvl170 char. I have one thats lvl 135 and it was hard enough to get there. I wouldnt want to try over again really. Same for the rares you found. You have to refind them again. And thats not an easy job.

First I'll compliment you on the egg hunts. That's a good number in a short amount of hours, sort of. Also, I agree about the Towards The Future quest. I got to level 200 maybe two months before that quest went up. I had been hearing about it a lot on different forums from people who used to play on the dreamcast version, but when it finally went up on the gamecube PSO, it really messed up the game. From there on out, it was all anybody wanted to do. For perhaps the first month the quest was up, almost every room I saw made online was a TTF run, and this got old fast. It also made leveling far too easy for a lot of n00b players, and I suppose that's where my true dislike for the quest comes in. I don't want to turn this into a rant, so I'll stop here.

Ouch. I can't imagine how it feels to lose such a high level character. All that time wasted. But ya had to have had fun on the way there. So don't they both really cancel each other out.

But I have a question about corruption, because I might be getting online next month. My pso file is on one of the black game cube cards (don't feel like looking at its storage) and I have atleast 2 dozen other games saved on it. If i get bsod or fsod, and something happens to my card, will all my other files be gone with my pso file? I'm already thinking about getting a whole new card to play online with...

Restarting is definantly a good idea. I had a Pinkal Hunter as my first character, had great luck at finding rare items. Then playing offline, my bro used his Mad Catz (damned thing) and it corrupted my four characters, lost everything. I restarted and now, like a year later, I recreated the Pinkal Hunter (albeit under a different name). For some reason, he too has great luck at finding these rare items even in normal mode. Funniest thing was that it only took me like four days to reach what my first Hunter had taken months to do. PSO is just way to fun to give up after a simple corruption.

Ignore Lonarwolf, he has no idea what he's talking about.

(I'm just kidding, Jon, don't kill me!)

Well, I would just say to start over, although thankfully I've never had a corrupted memory card on Gamecube or PS2. Although once my old computer just died on me, the guy at Best Buy said that something in the part of the hard drive that tells my computer to boot up correctly messed up...so I had to start from scratch with that and boy did it suck. Besides, starting anew can be kind of fun. At least I think so...maybe it's because I like to design characters. Besides, you already have the upper hand because you've experienced it all before, and maybe mistakes you made in the past can be corrected before they happen again, and you'll definitely know your way around the various areas better!

What are "bsod" or "fsod"? I like to read out the letters as if they don't stand for something, so it's like BIH-SAHD and FAH-SAHD. FAH-SAHD!!!
I use an official Nintendo Memory Card 259 (or is it 269) for PSO. It's black and small. Nothing's ever gone wrong with it, probably because it's Nintendo brand. Sure it may cost more, but at least there's not as high a risk of corruption *coughMadCatzcough*. I'm completely drooling over the Memory Card 1019s though (they're white), but I think they're about $30. $30 which I don't have!

Hey, you are not the only one, I started over on my character 4 times already!! Yes it will be hard from the start, but think of it as a rebirth of a new and yet better character that you can now put more concentration into...
