Would someone please explain what that means to me? My head is hurting like hell and doesn't read any of those words.

It means that they want to take away our right to record stuff off of TV or whereever.

Shouldn't effect you in Canada, though.

Not gonna happen. If that happens, then those that have to record a program they want to see be out or away will have a say about it. Them and companies that make DVD recorders and VCR's because it will cut into their business.

The RIAA is getting ridiculous. If they ban recording on VCRs, I'm going to do it as often as I can.

*Throws VCR into lake*
They'll never catch me now!

Well, wouldn't this make DVR and anything that records something illegal too?

This would hurt some parts of the ecomomy....

I thought US copyright law allowed copies for personal use, although I could be wrong. So they intend to ban VCRs on what grounds? http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_confused.gif

I guess that makes video cameras(especialy those with s-video or RCA inputs), video capture cards, and people with photographic memories all illiegal too!

No fair letting some things thar record exist simply because it's too hard to get rid of.

Oh yeah, the print screen key is gone too!

Ya know, I can't believe I orgot this.... The RIAA has nothing to do with television. Only music. They can't do a damned thing. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Aaah, the stupidity of the RIAA. We also suffer something similar here, named SGAE: Sociedad General de Autores y Editores: General Society of Authors and Editors. I will give an example of their idiocy.

A week after the Train bombing in Madrid (11M) a theater organization was going to play a work of an old spanish writer, I do not remember the name now. It was a benefical play, so all the income would go to the Terrorism Victims foundation. But who appeared? a SGAE representative, saying that they had to pay them the 10% of the income, but according to the law, benefical plays do not have to pay rights. But, the SGAE guy kept saying they had to pay, because he had no proof that the theater organization was legal etc, that the play could be a scam and they would keep all the income, etc. In the end they had to tell him to come back at the next day and they would pay him the 10%, otherwise they guy was not going to let them make the play. However the guy never returned, guess his little useless brain thought for once in his life...
