You have to find them or trade for them and since your offline....

My experience was that I found several of them bringing new characters up through normal - box finds.

Check the drop charts for normal drops and you can see where you are likely to find them.

Oh, and most of mine were found in my Pinkal id if that helps.

Sorry I wasn't much help.

It's been months since I was picking up those amps ... and my memory isn't that good.

I think I remember something about Seaside of Episode II being a good place to find those things.

Do these guides (http://www.pso-world.com/sections.php?op=listarticles&secid=68) help?

I remember yellowboze ruins boxes being good about giving out red amps. Hope that's worth something... http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

That's right! I've spontaniously turned into a coffin. (you didn't think I had died of shame or anything of the sorts now then did you?)

I have a Red Merge myself. Instead of you looking for it hours upon hours, I'm willing to give it to you when you will ever be online. But if you are going to be offline for quite some time, you can ignore my offer.

The use of merges to boost power of a specific magic is a matter of personal choice.

If you use your force as a magic caster: stand in a corner and blitz the room with lightening balls, or fire balls, or sheets of ice, then the boost of a specific merge can be very helpful. For example, let's say you are working your way through mines and you have a gizonde merge on, you will pwn almost everything and only occasionally use foie or barta (sinows/garantz). No need for a high defense because everything is dead in a few casts - nothing gets to you.

If, on the other hand, you save tp by mixing it up a bit, waging into the room and casting only occasionally while trying to whoop on stuff with your bitch stick, then it makes sense to use a barrier that protects you a bit more and helps out your stats.

So, how do you play?

My Fonewearl will often use her foie merge, especially with the Hildebear's Cane, to really blow things away with fire and sometimes my fonewm will strap on a Rafoie Merge or Gifoie Merge to nuke a room with ease. It all depends.

As for the original post, I downloaded the printable guides for amp and barrier location - quite helpful!
