The latest PSO BB patch includes Nprotect!
If you don't know, Nprotect is a piece of software for blocking off hacks and cheat programs. Its quite popular among other mmorpgs and other games such as Gunbound and Ragnarok Online. Of course there is some loop holes as I've heard but it might help PSO BB to become a less cheater environment http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Yeah thats great! It'll make hacking difficult for those 4 or 5 people who are, or were, hacking.

Yeah, sounds great...but BB isn't working for me anymore! The nProtect thing pops up, then it blinks, then it's like nothing happened.

Meh, any ideas? I might need to do something with Norton...

I am not sure how Norton or nProtect work, but I will make a wild guess:

nProtect checks the memory adresses that the game will use, in search for possible codes, cheats, hacks, etc. Norton is keeping an eye on every process that may try to access things that, by security reasons, should not be accessed, like memory adresses. So, Norton kills nProtect, and that means that Norton kills PSOBB.

But as I said, it is just a wild guess... try to run PSOBB without Norton.

I uninstalled Norton, still, no luck. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

It's not Norton http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif It's a piece of software from a Korean company.

It's crashing for me, too. Same thing happens with Gunbound.

Dammit, that means it's AOL's fault. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_cry.gif

Oh well, broadband soon, and I shall leave the abomination known as AOL in the dirt.

If you're having the same problem I am, then it's not AOL's fault. I suspect it's nProtect.. I've never gotten an nProtect game to run on my computer.

What video card do you have?
