His character either has something that boosts his EDK (Resistance to dark) or he got lucky. You can add to your resist dark by equipping, resist devil or the like on a multi-slotted frame, their are also a number of shields that will boost EDK as well as armors.

try to tell what system you're on :S

that attack the Lilies spit at you is called Megid, and it is affected by EDK, the higher your EDK, the more chances you got of not dying.

if you are offline, you need 58 EDK to never die from the attack, if you are online it's 64, this appplies to both VR Temple and Cave.

Briggs,

Check your charts and hunt down a Delsaber's left arm.

You can take that to Doc in Unsealed Door after you complete all quests on any given level and he can change it into a Delsaber's Shield.

Equip that if you can (non magic-type) and add a couple of Resist Devils and you will very rarely be vulnerable to Ob Lily megid again.

Keep going and add a DF field or Brightness Circle and a couple more Resist Devils and you can eventually survive any megid in the game (100 edk).

When you're running caves or temple, the high edk makes running those areas much more enjoyable.

I thought DF field did boost EDK. Sorry. I use the Brightness circle pretty much now.

Hmm.. well you best equip 4 Resist/Devils to get 15x4=60 EDK..

Butoden,

I have been killed my Del Lilies, Hildetorrs and Gran Scorcerers with 80 edk equipped. It's 100 edk to survive all, which is very doable if you're willing to give up something somewhere else.

You just have to remember to re-equip the damn cure freeze before fighting Falz - lol.

That highest you can get is 110, so no, there's no guarantee about del megid, and i like it that way. The fscking spell is 2x as tall as most characters, it should have a little extra potency.

Something else. It deals a lot of damage, but it's not a all or nothing hitter.

As I said, it does a lot of damage. If you have hight enough HP, you will survive.....once.
