View Full Version : Red Dagger hunting...

I've been trying to hunt the Red Set as a goal for the summer, and I'm far ahead of schedule. All I need to get are the Red Daggers and the Red Mechguns. My next target on the list are the Red Daggers. I looked at the PSOW drop charts, and the IGN.com charts, and wondered what's better to hunt them off of... I have three choices. 1) Skyly Cave Crimsion Assassin 2) Viridia Sinow Blues and 3) Purplenum Cave Pan Arms. The Pan Arm drop is out of the question, even though my Purplenum is a level 118 melee FOnewearl, as though it has the best drop chance, Pan Arms are an uncommon enemy, and can be a bitch to kill unsplit sometimes. Skyly Cave Crimsion Assassins are an easier kill, espically with my level 113 HUcast, but it's still in Caves, which is the area that I have been doing countless runs of over last week, so if I do more Caves runs, my sanity may snap... Sinow Blue has a slightly better drop rate, but can be hellish to fight sometimes, though my Viridia is a level 120 HUnewearl. Which do you think is my best chance at getting the Red Daggers? Any preference of quest for any of the three drops?

I would strongly suggest you go for the Skyly Crimson Assasin Red Daggers.

Do Addicting Food runs. But only go as far as the first room of Caves 2 (make sure to cover ALL of Caves 1). You will come across plenty of Crimson Assisins. I was able to get my Smoking Plate (much harder drop than red daggers) from these Crimson Assasins. On your way to caves 2 you'll gain shitloads of experience. Also, let's not forget that Skyly + Caves = WIN WIN! Those were the pros of skyly, now let's take a look at the cons (and very very few pros) of viridia and purplenum

Viridia:

Sinow Blues are not the funnest things to hunt. They are usually accompanied by other nasty monsters that make it tuff to kill the real danger, the sinows themselves. Even at level 120 with a HUnewearl, mines will probably drive you nuts after just a few runs. Another con is the fact that your not likely to see much else drop during your runs. The few things that are likely to drop BEFORE your red daggers all suck terribly. Consider Sinow hunting an option only if 1. you can play online OR 2. You can stand doing the first room of a quest over and over again.

Purplenum:

Pans Arms hunting = NO!
Plus it's caves, except these caves aren't as kind as skyly's. Even considering the rareness of Pan Arms, you still shouldn't expect anything worthwhile to drop on before your red daggers do. I might see a smoking plate dropping for you (if your very lucky), but even then... according to your profile, you don't have a FOnewm. Purplenum is the last place you should look for your daggers.

Hope that helps! http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

I would also go for the Crimson Assassins. I found my Red Partisan on the first Addicting Food run and it has the exact same drop rate at the Red Daggers.

Skyly --> Crimson Assassin

After doing around 10 AF runs with my Skyly, I came out with 2 Red Daggers, one with 20% hit. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Pffft, you arent even at double the drop rate yet, quit complaining.

And skyly is the way to go, unless you are online.

If I was online I would of by now...

I quit at 126 when I couldnt get online.

I'm now offline at 128.

I quit, basically, I told Uncle Bob a lil while until I get online (If I do...)

And when I checked IGN's it was 1/300...maybe I'm getting delusional...or bad memory...

Oh. And there is a drop rate that I can complain about.
Kinda a stupid one, but I hunted this thing.
This was before I had Demi, back when I had the lvl 140ish Corey.Actually, I really miss that character... ._.
Purplenum he was.

I Killed a Grand total of 9,45 El Rappy's for a Red Handgun...but I never got NOTHING. Just about 24PDs.
T_T I know the drop was about...300ish, so I quit at triple thinking I'd never get it.
Now, Demi has a Red Hgun with 20 hit. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

I really have no idea of what message you were trying to convey there. Not because of grammar, just none of it was complete enough to make sense.

As almost everyone else has said, skyly crimson assassin is the way to go. My Skyly HUcast, N30, found a red slicer and red daggers while searching for the chainsawd. I would do as RicoRoyal recommened, Caves 1 over and over of AF. You will get about 40k exp and you might find a red slicer, chainsawd, sange, or red sword while you're searching.
