I made one as well, with a few pictures. If you are going to use credit/debit card then the images might help.

Um, I'm curious about something. I clicked on the new user button, but Explorer just
told me that I need to use a Japanese enabled browser. Any idea about that?

Don't tell me I need to find and use a JP IE just to sign up for this thing?

I'm gonna test it one more time on another computer later.

Yeah how do you use a debit card to sign up?

Arislan
Jul 8, 2004, 01:25 PM
It has to have a Visa or MC logo on it. IF it does, use it as if you were paying with a Credit Card. Done. If it does not have one of those logos, you can't use that card.

Para
Jul 8, 2004, 01:28 PM
Hmm thats no good then...
This card has no visa or MC logo.

The most it has is Interac Direct payment logo on it =X

Well the good news is that I might be able to get my card tomorrow since im going to TD Canada Trust to open an account for debit. And TD Canada Trust as I recall has visa logos on it.

[Edit] why do i need the logo anyways?

<font size=-1>[ This Message was edited by: Nites on 2004-07-08 11:29 ]</font>

Arislan
Jul 8, 2004, 01:37 PM
If it has the logo on it, it is accepted anywhere Visa or MC can be used, since the card uses verification procedures that are approved by one or the other of the companies.

Para
Jul 8, 2004, 01:42 PM
Hmm then I hope tomorrow I can get a debit card from TD Canada Trust that has the visa logo on it and deposit some cash into it.

Damn that means I cant play yet ;_;

[edit] arislan are you sure it is a debit card and NOT a credit card you are using?
Im talking to a sales associate from td canada trust and for any product from visa i need to apply for it and still wait for it to come...

Normally a great idea, but they only offer the service for US GC players, so it's not an option for BB unless and until they state as such.

Jul 8, 2004, 03:19 PM
I don't recall this being definitively answered (and if it was, I apologize), but is there any sort of currency conversion fee that will apply from paying with a credit card in the US? If not, I don't see much to stop me from signing up. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

Arislan
Jul 8, 2004, 03:30 PM
Depends on the card. Paypal CCs have none, they use whatever the current prevailing exchange rate. Most CCs will either give you a horrible exchange rate as a "fee" or else will charge another 3-5% in conversion. Which, in this case, is something along the lines of 35 cents, no big deal.

Nai_Calus
Jul 8, 2004, 03:37 PM
Looks like mine does the horrible exchange rate, unless the exchange rate period sucks right now, the charge on my account is 9.77. XD

But im sure not everyone has a good computer or good connection or have p2p capabilities etc.

Believe or not, my computer usually went like crap in CCA, with GeForce FX 5200 included, during the Beta test. Now, however, it goes smooth enough to be perfectly playable.

Hm... hey, I paid with the credit card, but it says something about "automated... something"... By chance does this mean that I have to pay the 1000 yen every month?! Or does this only pay for one month, or does it pay accordingly to how much I play? (no play= no pay)...?

Just like that. To pay with the credit card you have to choose that one. For the 30 days option, you had to use one of those online sources, which... I don't use.

To cancel a hunter's license paid through credit card (the automatically everlasting one) you have to fill out the support mail form on the PSOBB official site.
In the form, look at the space for the mail subject and choose "jidoukeizokuriyouken no kaiyaku", it's a big blog of 10 signs -7 complicated, 1 easy, and then 2 complicated ones). You also have to tell other stuffs (probably your game ID, and a few other things as well, I didn't look at the form myself).
The catch is, you have to do this before the 25th of the month, else they make you pay the fees for the next month. (you can however still play until the last day of that month).

Nazo
Jul 15, 2004, 11:03 PM
Hm.... is this it?

Can you show me where this is exactly? I'm planning to kill the license by August 10th, just to let you know. This is kinda urgent. Thanks.

Saffran
Jul 16, 2004, 01:31 AM
Go at
https://ipas.isao.net/signup_pso/psobb/supportform.html

First enter your name, then your game ID, then you have a drop down menu. It's the second choice (Beware : the very first one means "please choose", so I -don't- count it in).
Then under that enter your mail adress, and under that one enter your email adress once again.
After that you're supposed to write some text (a reason why you don't want to play anymore?).
Then hit the button on the -left-.

You'll have to say why. Want to make it easy? Be a blunt bastard, put it into Japanese, and type

Can you help me please? I registered to PSOBB Open Beta and had no problem in purchasing a new HL (thanks to this topic), but now that I'm trying to help a friend to join I cannot enter the "new users" page (nor he can). I can access all the other pages and can type Japanese on my computer...I use WinXP Home with asian languages support. I can help with that...

First page: The one that was linked to. Hit the upper-left button.

Second page: The four steps for PSOBB registration. Accept the agreements, give them your e-mail, hit the link in the e-mail they'll ship out, then input your personal information (and username info).

Third page: Hope you've got Babelfish handy... two agreements in total Japanese. The button on the left is the Accept button - if you read the links, the right one goes back to the PSOBB home page.

Fourth page: The moment of truth. Key in your e-mail address twice, then hit the button. The red text at the bottom essentially says, "Make sure it's right, because if it's not, someone else will be enjoying PSOBB in your name."

Fifth page: This says that the e-mail was sent. Head to your inbox and click the big, long link.

Sixth page: Goody, you get to enter your personal info. I'll break this down by row...
Row 1: Last name in the first box, first name in the second.
Row 2: Do it again, but using Japanese symbols (katakana, to be exact).
Row 3: Postal code in XXX-XXXX format.
Row 4: Address.
Row 5: Phone number in XX-XXXX-XXXX format.
Row 6: DOB in YYYY-Month-DD format. (EX: 1985 March 26)
Row 7: Choose gender (Male on left, Female on right).
Row 8: Enter your first three choices for a username, in order. It can't start with a number.

And I don't know what comes after that... Sorry. But I can't sign up with my US address for a number of reasons...

MaxiColor
Sep 28, 2004, 05:51 PM
Okay, thanks! That helped a lot!

Few more questions.

It asks for a postal code in XXX-XXXX format. From my knowledge a normal US postal code is XXXX-XXXX.

On top of that, I don't know how to type in katana or whatever. Can someone tell me how to get a program of the likes to help me type that in correctly?

what is the format of putting in your adress?

On the phone number box, it is strange. I put it like Box 1-(My 3 digit area code) Box 2-first 3 digits, and box 3- last 4 digits. Is that right?

those are my puzzling questions because when I try to confirm it as it is, it just brings up to be what I think is in error message. or something saying I can't continue without such and such information put in correctly.

I finally got the Japanese Browser enabled, but now when I put my email adress, it gives me this warning window in japanese! ARGH! Do I need to write a japanese email address? It says:
E-mail address:
At the half angle alphanumeric please input.
E-mail address:
Please input for the second time for verifying.

What the hell does this mean?:/

The game is for Japanese players, so Japanese postal codes. You should use a fake one.

On top of that, I don't know how to type in katana or whatever. Can someone tell me how to get a program of the likes to help me type that in correctly?
You should have a Japanese IME in your system and change language in the language bar. If you have no default Japanese IME in your system (i.e. in Windows Xp you can add Asian languages from installation disk), you cannot play PSOBB, which is for Japanese OS only.

As above, you should use a fake Japanese phone number and address.

EDIT: In fact you can use your usual IME and type in your language on BB (but not in Jp in this case); but unless they fixed it, you cannot type your character's name while you create it.
