Whihc of these would be better for finding a Red Sword: Viridia TTF (5 Nanos) or Redria Ice Spinner (about 135 Melqeeks)?

Its always better to go for the enemy with the better drop rate.

Uh... I know this wasnt an option but personally I would do Viridia Mop up 2 or Endless Nightmare 2.

With Mop Up 2, me and my (Viridia) friend can't complete it within the given time. We can only get to about 8 Nanos before the timer gets us.

Skyly Govulmar if you had the option but as its not i choose Nanos. Finding a red sword at 1/2000+ off a melqueek when you could get a yasha at 1/10000 upsets me for some reason.

yasha takes more. way more.

i'd settle for whitill or skyly ice spinners. its fun, gives lots of exp and plays in my fav area: caves.

Its always better to go for the enemie with the better drop rate.Lol, this is not always the case. It depends on if a person has online/offline. An example of a higher drop rate being better is the Yasha. The Yasha drop rate is much lower for Skyly Belras, at 1/28,807, while the Yasha drop rate is 1/67,216 from a Viridia Melqueek. If you are online, then a Belra is a better choice, but if you are offline, then the Melqueek is your best choice at a Yasha, due to quests. Even if the Melqueek dr is better, it is still nearly impossible to obtain offline, but this example does work.

Melqueek drop rate is much worse than the Belra. For Yasha: Offline--Belra, Online--Belra.

Say an enemy has a drop rate of 1/900. You do not get 1/900th of that item for each enemy you kill. Each time you kill that enemy you earn the opportunity to roll a 900 sided die (die is the singular of dice). This is why its better to kill an enemy with a higher drop rate. By the way 1/28,808 is higher than 1/67,216.

By the way 1/28,808 is higher than 1/67,216. I know how drop rate works. I don't agree with your saying that offline you should get a Yasha from a Belra. There are barely any Belras per Temple run. There are alot more Melqueeks per caves run than belras. Offline there are 4 - 5 belras per Temple run. 28,808/5 = 5762. On average, there are around 20 Melqueeks per regular caves run. 67,216/20 = 3361. So on average you would have to do less caves runs than temple runs, which proves that the drop rate that looks better isn't always the best one.

No, I'd say try for it off a Melqueek in Ice Spinner. They hate to drop rates but the sheer ammount of them shouldn't make it too hard.
Of course Skyly is always the best.
