i tried emailing them to ask them if i could use my regular gc characters in the new ep 1&2 + or if i needed to start new characters in it and this is what i got as a response:

"Thank you for e-mailing Sega Technical Support.

Phantasy Star Online Episode 1&2 Plus for Gamecube is only for players in Japan.

The Japanese Phantasy Star Online Episode 1&2 server was replaced and Sega of
Japan released Phantasy Star Online Episode 1&2 Plus to be used on the new
Japanese server.

Hm, I've had a few responses from Sega Europe. And most of these were of much better quality than what you got.
And to give you an answer to you question (in case you hadn't found it around here somewhere already) you can use your characters from the regular Ep1&2 in PSO+. You even get to keep your items, and can go back to using your old version if you want.

Meh, they suck. I ask them a question, and its always automated.

And as SuperGuppie said, go check out Europe. Their's is more live action, I believe.

You think thats bad?! Try XBox support I had to send my box back 4 times for the same exact same reasons, just got my xbox back AGAIN, guess what SAME THING!, I told them why don't you just send me a new one? answer: we'll see if we can fix this one first translation: We're cheap!.
