Isn't it a sin to read in the summer?

I'm reading "Bush at War" right now...and it's been pretty entertaining so far.

Anyone reading any book(s) right now?

I've been needing to read ~50 pages of The Two Towers Since the last day of school. >_> <_< >_>
Then I have The Return of the King. Then I'll watch the movies.

Does reading Time each week count?

I do have to read a few books for school, but I'm not sure if my classes are requiring any certain books. >_> <_< >_>

I haven't gotten through very many books yet, because a few of them were quite long, but here's my list.

Books I've read so far this summer:
-The Rule of Four (Caldwell and Thomason)
-Shadow of the Wind (Zafon)
-Alexander Hamilton* (Chernow)
-A Conspiracy of Paper (Liss)
-The Devil in the White City (Larson)
-Cryptonomicon (Stephenson)

Right now, I'm about half-way through with Wizard's First Rule (Goodkind). As you can see, I have somewhat diverse tastes. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif And I recommend them all!

My summer to-read list:
-The Power of One (Courtenay)
-East of Eden (Steinbeck *gag*)
-Cry, the Beloved Country (Paton)
-Forever (Hamill)
-Stone of Tears (Goodkind)
-and anything else that looks interesting http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif

*Read this book or face an agonizingly slow death. ^_^

Currently I'm reading The Amazing Maurice and his Educated Rodents. Its a Terry Pratchett book, I had been reading some heavy stuff, so I though this would be a nice break.

I haven't been reading much this summer. It took me 3 1/2 weeks to finish re-reading "Ilium". I'm about halfway through "Tiger Burning Bright," but it's not as interesting as I had hoped it would be.

My to-do list consists of rereading the Kushiel trilogy, and maybe rereading the Watershed trilogy, the Hero and the Crown, and the Sword of Truth series, and waiting for "Olympus" to come out (tho who knows when that'll be...). Maybe I should read Lord of the Rings, too.

Entertaining, at least.

Game Over. Oh, that does not count? How about graphic novels? No? ok.

Actually, I have been reading much manga and Game Over but not traditional novels. I just have a hard time getting into books (but when I'm in, I can't get away. Ironic). I usually enjoy Tom Clancy books and the first two Starcraft books.

Man,. I really need to read more as well. Usually I do. >_<
At the moment, though, I'm re-reqading the Iliad by Homer. Been at least 16 years since I last read that.

Reccomended to sci-fi buffs- 'Eternity Road' by Jack McDevitt.
Taken from Amazon.com
Book Description
The Roadmakers left only ruins behind -- but what magnificent ruins!Their concrete highways still cross the continent. Their cups, combs and jewelry are found in every Illyrian home. They left behind a legend, too -- a hidden sanctuary called Haven, where even now the secrets of their civilization might still be found.
Chaka's brother was one of those who sought to find Haven and never returned. But now Chaka has inherited a rare Roadmaker artifact -- a book called A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court -- which has inspired her to follow in his footsteps. Gathering an unlikely band of companions around her, Chaka embarks upon a journey where she will encounter bloodthirsty rirver pirates, electronic ghosts who mourn their lost civilization and machines that skim over the ground and air. Ultimately, the group will learn the truth about their own mysterious past.

Also- incredibly good, is the Symphony of Ages trilogy by Elizebeth Haydon.
Rhapsody- child of the blood
Prophecy- child of the earth
Destiny- child of the sky

and the follow up
Requiem for the Sun
and the soon to be released, which I'm getting on release day http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif
Elegy for a Lost Star.

Im currently reading 'Batlle Royale', but just trying to find time to sit down and read it at the mo.

Once ive finished that im moving onto 'The Wee Free Men' by Terry Pratchett. Its one of his 'For Younger Readers' books, but im really into Discworld so i may aswell read it.

Ive also got to get round to reading the other 3 books in 'Hitchhikers Guide to the Galexy' series and get past chapter 2 of 'Wizards First Rule'.

As of now, I am reading the latest Gunslinger book by King. Just as a point of clarification: This series does indeed pwn you.

Any fan of King will find links to many of his other books (Insomnia, eyes of the dragon, hearts in atlantis, the stand etc).

I just finished reading Isaac Asimov's Prelude to Foundation and I have Foundation on the shelf and ready to read.

Asimov = great.

And as a side note I also recently discovered that good 'ol Dr. Seuss knows how to make The Cold War fun (http://www.seuss.org/seuss/seuss.list.html)! http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

After seeing "Spider-man 2" twice, and possibly a coming third time, I've gotten urges to read "Spider-man: Venom's Wrath". http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif

I've started the book and am now on chapter three. Although the prologue was so long, it may as well be counted as two chapters, I have read over 50 something pages out of 300 which is a good start, at least.

But, seeing as I am juggling video games, hanging with friends, and a job......I don't think I'll ever finish the book. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif

meh, light reading this time.

finished Purgatorio by Dante this past june

picked up Paradiso to finish off the Divine Comedy

reading Cooking with Grease by Donna Brazile (saw her on C-SPAN, she intrigued me, knew nothing about her, but liked her style).

also reading an e-book of Mark Twain's Eve's Diary and Adam's Diary.

friend gave me Ender's Game series as a gift recently. he really likes it and says i should read it.

relatives gave me Ahab's Wife, Hyperion, and Woman with Pearl Earring to finish this summer too.

I'll get around to them soon enough. should be finished by end of summer.
