While I was going to purchase PSO + in Hong Kong next week, I thought that I might'll get another few games, since the last times I bought some were... last year. In August.

So a few I'm considering:

-Metal Gear Solid: TTS
-Eternal Darkness

I know some will say Paper mario 2 (I'll think about it, but prob not), and Tales of Symphonia (I have a Japanese cube, so I can't understand all the kanji).

---------

Now the one I want to focus about is the Eternal Darkness game. I remember a thread on this last year, but I can't seem to find it. So I ask:

-Have any of you played this game?
-How is it?
-I being sort of freakish and easily frightened at night (though intrepid during the day http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif ), I'm not really sure if I want to get this, though this looks like one of the best games that I've seen. Biohazard is availible at my local arcade, so I won't be getting that.

Seems real good, but I'm afraid I might hurt myself. Any suggestions?

Eternal Darkness was my first game for the gamecube, and I had a blast with it. There are some really great parts in the game, and the story is fairly involving. You won't see the REAL ending until you beat all three difficulties in it, which gives you just that much more reason to play. Plus, it's a good date game, type of thing, if you want some girl jumping into your lap in fright. Try turning down the lights at night, turning up the music, and letting the sanity effects get out of control. After a while, they sort of lose their appeal, but that doesn't make them any less interesting to watch.

Eternal Darkness is a very fun game to play. The Sanity Effects are really the main draw for me, just to see all the unique effects. There are some moments that can freak you out so unless you want to be scared, keep the lights on.

In my mind, however, I thought MGS: TTS blew Eternal Darkness away in every way. However, I do enjoy stealth games more than horror games.

Yup, played through it three times to get the real ending.

-How is it?

Very fun. I love all the different things that happen to the characters when they get scared (loveeee that green meter). The magic system is kinda' neat to play around with. The voice acting is good, even though the cutscenes look a bit too cartoonish at times. The only real big downside to Eternal Darkness is that it gets repetitive. At times you have to more or less replay an exact same stage as before, only in a different point in time. Sometimes the levels barely get changed at all between time changes. But it's really not all that repetitive, because the gameplay ain't half-bad. I thought the story was top notch.

http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_chicken.gif Your missing out on some great games. Really. Biohazard (Resident Evil here in the states) was a must-buy for me when it came out on the cube. It reeks of quality and high production values. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_yes.gif But hey, get what you like. Pokemon Snap anyone? http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

Definitely Eternal Darkness. Great game!

Metal Gear Solid: TSS...eh...well...if you haven't played the first one, it is a nice challenge. But for someone who played the first one to death, it was way too easy...even on hard! And cinema's seemed to be overdone in my book. A lot of them seemed to have "look at the cool graphical effects we can do" other than the actual filmmaker's perspective...but that is my opinion...

I also strongly suggest Metroid Prime, Mega Man: Anniversary Collection, F-Zero GX, Tales of Symphonia, and Ikaruga (if you can find that one).

I would go for Eternal Darkness. It's just one of those games that gives you an experience you won't forget.

You may beat it fairly quickly, but damned if you won't want to do it three more times for the real ending.
